LOVE this store!! If you are looking for something unique to give for any reason, go to The General Store. Buyer Beware, you will leave with more than you came for! It's 2 stories of amazing local vendors & trendy items. Another word of warning be prepared to lose time because there are so many things to see, but don't despair, you can always keep up your energy for more shopping by filling up in the cafe. The staff is friendly, helpful & will happily help you to fill your basket or two..or three!! What a great way to lose track of time!!

Needed 20 gifts Minnesota related for a meeting the next day. They had 16 and I needed 4 more...they called the supplier who then jumped in their car and drove in the other 4 I needed. IMPRESSIVE customer service both by General Store and the supplier! Love this place. Picture of final gift below all items purchased at General Store but the paper filling.

I have been visiting this store ever since I was a little kid. Back then, it didn't have the huge addition with a cafe and second floor that it has now. At the check-out, my mom would always let me pick out 10 cent candy (prices have since gone up!). I always looked forward to my special candy treat at the end of our shopping trip. We also took advantage of the personalized items on kids' stuff- Easter buckets, storage containers for crafts/toys. Even all these years later, they still do personalizing. As an adult, I still look forward to each visit. I always find cool new and unique items. And instead of my 10 cent candy, I might grab one of their luscious desserts and a coffee! Yum!

And endless amount of items for any type of person! Amazing place to shop, especially to support a local small business. The staff is super friendly as well!

Dinner in the new Cafe and Bistro is also excellent. During lunchtime, it is deli style - where you order salads and sandwiches at the counter (as it has been for years). Now they serve dinner too! I was surprised that they transform it into a sit down restaurant at night where you are waited on. It is a perfect date spot or place to go with girlfriends.
