I have been going to this dentistry for 4 years. Last year I noticed that they may be doing unnecessarily dental work, and during my last visit I have no doubt about it. I had an appointment with the hygienist at the beginning of the year, she is very attentive- she cleaned my teeth and after she took X rays, she said all looks good to her and let’s just wait for the dentist for final exam. Dr. R. Berube was not there so another dentist looked at my teeth and said one small chip needs to be fixed so I scheduled an appointment. During that second appointment Dr. R. Berube said there are two cavities to be fixed! I asked about why 2, very suspicious at that point because a similar miscommunication happened with this dentist last year, and he said the notes said so. I asked him to show me on the X rays where the cavity is and he said - well, sometimes X rays do not show, but the clinical pic does. No further explanation, no suggesting to show me the cavity using mirrors, nothing. I was intimidated at that point that I asked too many questions so I just let him work. The X rays did not show any damage on my teeth, not even a shadow. Why take X rays if he count drill because of the “clinical picture”?! Maybe because insurance gets billed for X rays too. I have requested my dental records and am not returning there. I also will be filing a complaint against the dentist. I believe that the work that was done during the last visit was for monetary gain - ultimately my insurance was billed over $500. Also, I submitted my review about my last visit on a site called RateABiz - maybe controlled by the dentistry - my review was removed.

Today I had my first appt at Gerber and met Diane and Dr. Stephen. They were aware that I am rather "scared" of going to the dentist and both were very personable, sensitive and friendly in response. The two front desk people I interacted with were pleasant and professional. I will continue to work with Gerber dental for the dental plan for my teeth, of which they were low key and not at all pushing services.

I had my first appointment with Gerber today. Fast and friendly from beginning to end and as a mom of 3 I need that! My experience was great!
