We stopped by for a non-fast-food part of the way to Houston, and just lucked into Gilberto's.  We shared a Monster Fajita which included beef, chicken, and shrimp, plus vegetables.  I have to mention that the beef, though not spiced like expected in Mexican restaurants in Houston, was somehow charred just perfectly.  It was the best we've had in a long long time, and Houston abounds with great fajita restaurants.

The tortillas were also great.

Very polite staff.  I had to remind our server to charge me for our ice teas, because I didn't want her to get in trouble...

Great Mexican food, good service and decent prices.
The raspberry daiquiri got passed around with all thumbs up.

The salad had withered lettuce. The waitress forgot parts of my meal. The teriaki chicken breast had an over grilled pineapple on top. The flavor of the food was not what I expected. They have awesome chips and salsa. I will not eat here again.

Adorable and delicious!
I couldn't eat all my food because I filled up on the best fresh tortilla chips I've ever had. Everyone enjoyed their food - fajitas, relleno, Tortuga, and a burger. Great food and really nice setting. A perfect lunch stop on your drive between Dallas and Houston.
