I do not understand how Gill's has gotten such great reviews after my experience. I needed my car's ac recharged. Simple job. Industry standard costs involved. No big deal. Except, I didn't take the car into Gill's, my wife took it in. It should have been a simple half hour task. My wife sits there for 2 hours and then the guy comes out to tell her that the condensor has a hole in it and needs to be replaced. For $648.42 he can repair and charge her Flex ac up. The situation devolved after that into rude behavior and childish taunts that she would be back to Gill's because they're the cheapest shop in town. That's not a close adjective to describe Gill's Auto Repair. I would choose theiving or lying or something similar. My wife took her Flex to a different place in town. The owner checked the car himself. Ran the dye test 3 times. Couldn't find a leak in the whole system. So, thank you anonymous guy of the other shop for charging up my wifes Flex's ac system and proving that the people at Gill's are liars and theives. Her car is blowing freezing cold air enough for her glasses to fog up leaving it's interior. Needless to say, I would never set foot in Gill's shop again. I don't care how "cheap" they are.

I use to live in Valpo and they are the most wonderful family business, They are to the point and truthful about anything they find in my cars, I have serviced 3 different cars for several years and I never had a single issue. I compared price which was given by other places with there price they are 50 less in price for the best service they provide. you go to a dealer for diagnostic, you will be charged $120-$150, at Gill's they don charge you because they value you loyalty and providing best customer service. they will suggest something ales if they think it will benefit the customers. I Live 70 miles away and I still call them for any advice and they still take time and explain and give me a direction and I still sure love to go to them than any body ales.

Mark is a man of integrity. Fortunately I have not needed to use his services but I am in the auto glass industry and have done work for him. I've watched him interact with his customers and he treat them with respect and compassion. I have and will always refer him out to family friends and customers.

They tell you straight as to the issue and what it will take and cost. They don't have you get extra work done you don't need. They will help you anytime and don't charge high rates. They do a great job and stand by their work! Besides the guys are really nice and friendly; Mike's a little shy though.
