Go for the Tiki bar and beach.... Beer is cold and they have specialty drinks.  Great for people watching. Tend to spend at least an hour, most times more.  Just fun to hangout. Live music on weekends.  Can be loud, but with the beach area you can move around to your preference in volume... Yes you be can swim in the river. They also have a volleyball court. Boats docked at Pier as well as out in the water.

You have to be a customer to use beach !  Noticed when I visited this time they had signs up.  Suspect they've had problems.

I had really good food the first time I ate there. Otherwise have not had good experiences eating here. Way too long wait times.  They have added a seating are on the water.... looks interesting.

Love this place.  The food is awesome and so is the atmosphere.  It's a  great place either by land or river.

Started coming here 3 or 4 years ago to play music. Not playing here anymore, but made a few good friends and now just enjoy coming back now and then. Good food, fun people, great atmosphere. Love me some Gilligans Pier.

Gilligans is a neat little drive up bar on the potomac. There is limited dock space but they have a water taxi that will pick you up and drop you at the dock once you anchor your boat. The Orange crush drink is pretty damn good, too. It's made from fresh squeezed oranges and vodka. Delicious.
