While at the Kohls store in Glenview yesterday (a humid 88 degree day) I heard a dog barking from the inside of a locked car with the windows slightly open. I also saw that a Glenview Police car was in the parking lot too - which I thought was fortunate for the poor dog who was obviously struggling in the heat. I sought out the help of the store manager to page the owner of the vehicle and when I saw the officer checking out at the register I notified him of the situation. It was obvious that this officer wanted nothing to do with me, but did reluctantly comply to check-out the dog's condition. After doing so, he returned to the store, asked me why I thought the dog was in distress, shared that he thought that he looked fine, and told me if I wanted to address the owner of the car myself that I could, but that he was not concerned. He then hopped into his police car and left. Luckily, the owner of the car came to the front service desk and after telling me she had only been shopping for a short while (it had already been 20 minutes since I entered the store)and that her dog was fine, went to her car and left. This police officer should know that the temperatures in a car can get well over 100 degrees in a matter of 10 minutes and that the dog was in danger. He chose to dismiss me and my concerns for this poor dog. Truly unimpressed!

I can't speak on the entire Glenview police department because I have only had to deal with one corrupt cop named Dan McCarthy... You sir took an oath to serve and protect not to harass people. How can the same cop give you the same tickets and say the same exact thing as the first time he pulled you over? All in less than a 2 month span. The first time you pulled me over I was scared because I have no criminal record and I had never been pulled over before so I didn't know my rights and so I just complied to everything your dishonest self said. After telling people what happened to me, I got some good advice and now I know what my rights are . (For anyone who knows me, knows that when I am at fault, I always take FULL responsibility for my actions. Im not just writing this review because i am angry that i got some tickets. I wrote this review because this officer needs to be looked into.) You are the reason why people don't like cops. Fortunate for you, I have close friends and family members who are police officers and I know that this country has AMAZING men and woman that truly serve and protect. I hope and pray that this police department really looks into their police officers because clearly others have had similar experiences.

Corupt cops in every level of the department. I believe i interacted with the officers DJ had mentioned. I was intentionally ran off the road by a man claiming to be an off duty Glenview police officer, when asked for his town of employment and badge number he refused to give me the information. The officers that were dispatched claimed it was a accident and misunderstanding. I video taped as much of the situation as i could with the limited space available on my phone and posted it on YouTube. Just do a search for glenveiw off duty police officer misconduct to watch the video i captured of the hostile man claiming to be a glenveiw off duty police officer.

The Glenview Police Department needs to focus on real crime. I have had multiple friends and relatives homes robbed with little action from the police while I have heard of many underage drinking citations. I have witnessed first hand my niece's phone being slapped out of her hand and broken by a police officer who was trying to scare her into confessing into charges she did not commit. These "officers" need to learn how to deal with real crime and stop trying to scare 18, 19, and 20 year olds. Your are not protecting or serving anyone by ruining children's lives for having a couple beers.
