Obviously so many great historical figures rest here. A stand out for me is Anson Jones - the last President of the Republic of Texas. I posted some photos from my last visit.

The mgr and Secretary were very helpful. Its free just to walk around and soak up the history. The beautiful location, flowers, old trees, delightful animals, make for a very momentous day. Take a walk on the wild side.

Lots of history. Many historical people buried here. Ancient oak trees that you won't find many places anymore. Lots of interesting tomb stones and so peaceful to be so close to Houston. It is worth your time. If you like history, nature, and architecture you won't be disappointed. Wear walking shoes and don't be in a hurry. Enjoy.
