I'm utterly shocked people shop at GNC. The cashiers are kind of knowledgeable, but their prices are INSANELY high. I'm not sure if they jack up the prices to get you to sign up for their "gold card" program (where spending money to join means you get some discount during specific times of the month), or if they just want to see who will blindly pay these exorbitant prices. I ran out of a popular protein powder so I went to GNC because I didn't have time to get it online (it would take a day or two to ship).  I know this is exactly what some stores hope customers do so they can take advantage of them, but when I showed up I discovered the price for the protein I wanted was literally TWICE as much as I pay online. I chuckled out loud, whipped out my smartphone, ordered it online while in the store, and chalked up this experience as a lesson to remember to plan ahead.
