Goddess and The Baker is a good food experience for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert all day. With a soul of a mid-century lunch counter and the palate of a modern day gourmand, this storefront caters to busy Chicagoans who care about fast, fresh food and better coffee. We showcase seasonal flavors with a global spin. From our salads to our wide selection of made-to-order sandwiches we're serving what Chicago's hungry for.

With a fanatical focus on pastries and sweets, dessert is served all day. From our layered rainbow cakes, to pot de crème, rustic fruit tarts, cookies, and lemon bars, we hope that you'll save room for something sweet. Feeling inspired? Make it à la mode with a scoop of Zarlengo's creamy gelato.

Stop in to see our one-of-a-kind coffee program, offering a rotating selection of beans from some of our favorite third wave roasters, we serve pour-over and drip coffee. Dedicated to an amazing coffee experience, we will also offer cold brew coffee on Nitro tap and espresso drinks handcrafted with our custom La Marzocco espresso machine. We consistently showcase a rotating selection of our favorite coffees from our favorite roasters around the country, and in some cases, the globe.

Great spot for a healthy, filling meal. Food is a little on the expensive side, but expected for being in the loop-Right next to millennium park. Breakfast burrito was a great option, long with the coffee cake muffin. Seating is limited and can feel quite cramped.

Got my order completely wrong, and when they replaced it, asked if I "still wanted it for here." Was given a 10% off coupon, I guess as an apology. No customer service skills, maybe they're under the weather. Then as I'm eating, one of the employees comes and asks if she can clear my tray for me.. I look down trying to see what made her think I'm done. But I guess they really just don't want you to stay too long. Pretty uncomfortable and unwelcoming quite frankly. Also too loud to work. Bummer because the food was pretty decent.

We begin our visit to Chicago at Millennium park, but quickly find we are in need of some coffee and food to fuel our adventure. Nearby is a highly rated bakery and coffee shop, Goddess and the Baker. Because of the marathon, tons of very athletic looking people are crowding the store and lined up out the door. The line moves fairly fast, though it takes longer for the coffee to be made than the breakfast sandwiches. I accidentally grab someone else’s coffee before heading out and and horrified at what I’ve waited for, a cloyingly sweet drink while my wife’s latte is ice cold. Thankfully we straighten out the orders and actually get ours which are pretty good. The breakfast sandwiches are awesome, though we can barely enjoy them as we get swarmed by big fuzzy bees near the park whenever we open them up. What’s up with Chicago’s giant bees?

Not used to bad reviews but this place is overrated. We ordered 2 sandwiches and 2 coffees for lunch: $32. The coffees were good but the sandwiches were very basic. They come served with a small bag of chips and some tasteless fruits in plastic. Our lunch would have been very similar to Subway, but way cheaper. Maybe this place is good for breakfasts, but make yourself a favor do not come there for lunch. Hope this review will be useful for both customers and managers of this restaurant.

Customer service is a 0. At least five members on staff and they were all cleaning the place at 7pm on a Saturday night--not one person handling customers; unfriendly and cold was the experience. Baked goods; The funfetti cake was super sweet and the pumpkin bar tasted stale--it was definitely more than a day old (since they offset each other avg score for product). I'd give the baked goods a 3. I guess kudos for a clean place, but customer service needs great improvement.
