Great classes and facility. Been very happy so far

I had no problems with this gym until I had to put my account on hold for medical reasons. It was about the time they were changing over to golds from bay. I put my account on hold early October and they still wanted to charge me for the whole month of October just because I hadn't put my membership on hold a few days earlier in September. It simply isn't a fair policy, and above all it was medical. You would think a gym would understand. That is $65.00 I'm out and for what? A whole month I didn't step foot in the gym. A rip off is what it is. I went in yesterday and with no notice they canceled my membership, very unprofessional in my opinion.Over all the gym is not worth your money, the classes are okay but they switch up teachers on you last minute and staff is not very knowledgeable about what is going on. The workout machines are out dated and broken. And when you sign up you are offered a free session with a personal trainer which I was trying to get the whole year I was there and i was always told I'd get a call back and nothing over that whole period of time. Worst gym ever!!

Regardless of the name, this gym has a fabulous staff and wonderful manager in Cindy Capra. The teachers for every class I've had in the 20 years of membership here has been knowledgeable and helpful. Currently, I love the hot yoga classes and attend regularly. The instructors are experienced, and give detailed guidance, and encourage doing the poses safely. There is a lot of variety here for any exercise enthusiast.

I used to be a member here for about 2 years. It used to be Spectrum, now it's Bay Club. I cancelled my membership a few months ago around the time the switch happened for reasons already listed from other reviewers.

I received an email from the Membership Retention Director, with a pretty good deal to return and that they were hosting a BBQ event on the weekend. So I decide to head to the club, grab a burger, and check out how the facility changed since the switch. Well, I get to the club, and there is no event at all. I double checked the email, and I was there - at the right place, day, and time. I called the front desk, and they didn't even have any info about a BBQ. So I just took off. 

It's kind of shady when a company sends you a promotional email that's basically false advertising to get you to come back into the club. I tried contacting them about the mixup, but have not heard back.
