If there was less than one star then I would give them that. They were not properly prepared. We were given a tiny viewing room when we had a large family/friends, which were all standing in the hall. When it came to the actual service, we did not have a priest. They forgot to call him to confirm that he had a service so he didn't show up. Not only that they didn't want to tell us. So we ended up waiting 45 MINS before they actually told us theu screwed up. So then we had to speed to the cemetery before they closed or our sister would haven't been able to be buried until the weekend and holiday was over. It was a horrible experience and they didn't have any sense of urgency at any time. They didn't have any remorse or care. The " deacon" at the funeral home didn't care and all of her staff was so rude. They also lost one of our standing spray flowers from my work.. terrible experience. I'll be calling the state.

If I could put NO STAR that’s what I would put if Google would allow me! I chose Golden Gate when my father passed and it was the worst mistake I have EVER made! These are the most UNPROFESSIONAL people I have ever seen. Every time I called no one knew who my dad was so I had to keep re-living the incident over & over again. Once we sat down with a rep she tried to quote us a price 300$ dollars more than we were quoted on the phone! Then once I thought I was finally done with these people they took almost a whole month to mail my fathers death certificate!!!!! I know they are cheap but save yourself the headache and pay a little more to have peace of mind!

When I lost my husband R.J. Odie jr on 1/5/2018--I already knew that I was going to have his services at Golden Gate from my past experience with my Mother and Brother...The staff was very professional and patient every question I ask I never got a NO for an answer, Da Da, Carl and Pastor Henderson was awesome! I just loved the whole staff. Thanks Golden Gate.

Being an Oak Cliff native, I chose Golden Gate Funeral Home to cremate my mother a few years ago - with satisfactory results. My sister passed away 5+ weeks ago and has been at Golden Gate since then. I have not gotten ANY updates or communication from Golden Gate staff since they got paid. I asked the owner's granddaughter to help me with notifying Social Security, but was told they don't do that. I've called several times and left messages, but no one ever called me back. Today I called and demanded to talk to the owner, Mr. Beckwith. He was not apologetic in the least, but he said he'd resolve my issues today (make a home delivery). According to him, they DO automatically notify the SSA - the granddaughter who works there told me the opposite. He claimed that I'd been contacted repeatedly - which has not happened. A HUGE lack of customer service and caring on their part. Seems to me that either they disregarded my family based on race or the fact that we didn't spend much money. I am so disappointed and will NOT patronize Golden Gate again.

While making arrangements for my Dad, everyone we interacted with was very helpful, kind, courteous, and professional to me and my family. During this process, the actual CEO...John Beckwith, came into the room to congratulate us for having a Pre-need. We had several, very specific, instructions regarding my Dad's wake and funeral service. The Golden Gate staff fulfilled each and every one of our requests without hesitation. My Dad's wake and funeral service were both "PERFECT". Thank you Golden Gate!
