Food is phenomenal and best Caribbean dishes you’ll find in Newburgh or through the upper Hudson valley. I travel from Middletown NY just for the breakfast items. You won’t be disappointed. Vegetarian options: Vegetable options always available. Dietary restrictions: Lots of options for veggies and meat eaters alike. Parking: Plenty of spots available throughout the area. Kid-friendliness: Nice small personal sitting area.
Place is clean, staff is friendly, jerk chicken/pork was very very dry, no smoke flavor, and jerk seasoning definitely not authentic. No ac in the restaurant either. Good portions but not recommended for the money or flavor.

Please try their oxtail with spinach rice and plantains! There was so much meat and it was melting off the bone it was so good. Workers were so friendly too. There isn’t really room to sit so it’s definitely for takeout. We spent $50 on large portions for 3 people and were stuffed after demolishing it. Oxtail is I usually pretty expensive keep in mind.
As a new resident to the area, I was worried if I’d find the equivalent or better Jamaican food as the Bronx. I was pleasantly surprised as both visits to GK were met with wonderful customer service by the female serving and the male cashing. I’m sorry I didn’t catch the names but I’ll be back. Excellent portions and flavor. I always feel I got my monies worth. Keep up the good work.
Hands down the best golden crust I have ever picked up food from. The woman working here provided excellent service, and the food was delicious. The interior design made the restaurant feel bigger in size and super chill, I definitely wanted to sit outside and eat, but the rain disregarded my wants, haha. It is absolutely worth the 15-minute trip to enjoy everything.
Amazing food and even better staff. Have been going there ever since it open. The oxtail, bbq chicken and the Pattie’s are delicious. I also tried their breakfast and omg it’s definitely a most. The lines are long but it’s worth it. Unique has finally given us the best Caribbean food in Newburgh. Vegetarian options: They have a few vegetarian plates. Parking: It’s in a plaza plenty of parking. Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs and handicap parked no right across from it.
My spouse and I stopped in here on a trip looking to try something new. I was hesitant bc its a chain, but oh. my. god. I am so glad we went. The young man working that night was really friendly and helpful he could tell we'd never been there before lol. The portions were fantastic we were both stuffed. And the food itself. Yum. We got the bbq chicken combo and the curry goat combo. The chicken was melt off the bone good. I think its probably the best bbq chicken I've ever had from a restaurant. I wasnt expecting to like the goat but that was great, too, though its important to know for ppl who are unfamiliar with the dish that there are bones in it. We knew to expect that so no big deal. We will definitely go back here if we're in the area again/will go to their other locations when possible. Sidenote: the place itself was very neat and clean. It seems like more of a take-out joint rather than an eat-in.
Fresh meals daily. Friendly staff. Clean and warm environment. Everything is always on point in freshness and flavour. My opinion; best oxtails in Orange County...quick service as well. Always advised to arrive early.Food: 5/5
They skimp on the proportions. Especially when the manager is there. This plate here had the smallest proportion of meat I’ve ever seen and was most bones. Put more meat. Everybody don’t want a boat load of rice. There should be a standard amount of meat you put in your plates. It is alway inconsistent Stop being stingy please. Eventually customers will catch on to what’s happening. Once they do you will be only selling patties.
