Finally tried this place out!! I’ve been wanting to go ever since they were featured on buzzfeed’s worth it!  Pros: Lots of options vegan and not Beautiful aesthetic Nice outdoor seating area  Cons: Not very affordable  We got the vegan German chocolate cake and the vegan red velvet cupcake. Both were fine! It didn’t taste special to me at all.

Consistently DEE-LICIOUSThe aroma alone gets you at "hello" Vegan options are EQUALLY delightful. Took husband on a "sweet treat shopping spree" for birthday & they did not disappoint

So today was my first time trying Good Cakes and Bakes. i ordered some cupcakes for Christmas Dinner for my family and they look delicious. I ordered picked up a slice of the Red Velvet cake. It taste a little dry not sure if it had been sitting for a few days. I will try the cupcakes and see what happens......fingercrossed. The person at the counter was very nice and respect and courteous. The environment is nice as well.

Visited with family. Spacious and clean establishment, COVID guidelines seemed to be met. There was sanitizer available in and outside the store.  Customer service was cordial, welcoming, and polite. Ordered 3 vegan cupcakes, a coffee cake, and cookies. Based on my palette, desserts weren't my absolute favorite, lacks real flavors.  Would I visit again? Yes, I appreciate the vegan options. Better vegan desserts offered here than other places I visited in Detroit. I appreciate it being a black owned business.

We had April help us out for our cupcake order for our wedding and it was an incredible experience all the way around. First, she had us meet her at her shop and she brought us out little samples of cupcakes, toppings, and fillings. We were able to custom design as many cupcakes as we wanted and it was such a fun experience! If I remember correctly, we chose 8 different varieties and they were a HIT! I received numerous compliments about these cupcakes, but the biggest testaments that they were GONE by the end of the night! We ordered 250 cupcakes and had 175 guests- not one was left! My husband and I didn't even get to eat one but that's okay because our guests were so thrilled. :  Another part of this I must mention is April's willingness to work with us. We found some cupcake holders with beautiful gems on them on Amazon. We had asked if she would be willing to purchase them and we could rent them from her because they matched our wedding decor she much, and she did! It was stunning- all of it. We appreciate you so much, April and all workers at Cakes and Bakes!!!

Excellent and delicious red velvet and pound cakes delivered in time for Christmas. Fresh and packed perfectly for shipping. Will order again.

I saw this Bakery featured on the Today Show and was so impressed with the Mother /Daughter Business. I am originally from the Detroit area and was visiting family this week and made sure to stop by and congratulate them on their business. I purchased some cupcakes and they were some of the best cupcakes that I have ever tasted. So moist and tasteful. I highly recommend this bakery.

Really cute place!! Cupcakes are a bit small for $2.75, I really wish they were a bit bigger. I have to give 5 stars because it's a black owned business and a business ran by a women. I really wanted to order more cupcakes, but they didnt have any flavors I really wanted. No cookies and cream!! I asked why??? And she said it's too much work and that flavor was retired for the season and replaced with a cinnamon cupcake. I really wanted to try the zuppa toscana soup, but they only had black eye pea soup with greens. I thought okay that should be good, but I tried a sample and wasnt that pleased with the flavor. I think it's a really cute place, the 2 cupcakes I order were good just small. I will try this place again with my neices and nephews.

When I heard a local hate group had targeted this bakery, I went online and placed this order immediately. And I am NOT disappointed! Their contactless delivery was great! Everything looks perfect except one cupcake that tipped when I took it out of the bag —MY FAULT, not theirs. So far we have only eaten the cookies chocolate chip and sugar lemon, and both my hubby and I are happy campers. THANK YOU! Can’t wait to order again and support this business more in the future!
