Story

Located in one of the older buildings on Hamilton Street, grain. will bring new life to a block that has been quiet for many years. Under the watchful eye and creative mind of Executive Chef Tyler Baxter, grain. will offer an eclectic take on American comfort food. As the second restaurant for the group dubbed “The Bayou Boys”, the interior of grain. showcases their eye for detail and appreciation of the historic building. Having two floors to work with, they decided to separate the dining room from the bar. The first floor will be a staple for happy hour, and the second will be a favorite for first dates, anniversaries and everything in between. The Bayou Boys are in Allentown and ready to serve you!

Royal, Elijah, Melissa, and the rest of the staff at Grain are fantastic. I adore them. Their beer selection is seriously on point as well. The ambience and laid back quality to this "foodie" restaurant are all lovely as well. Lamb meatballs were lemony, tomato-y, and zingy. Veggies are grilled to perfection. The New York strip though? One of the best tasting things I've had in my entire life, no joke. Creamy, salty, decadent, yet light and aromatic. I took one bite and wanted to sleep happily for a thousand years. I hate cauliflower yet inhaled THIS like it was running away from me and I had to catch it. This is the unicorn of food, people: eat the unicorn.

I had a wonderful experience here. The food was absolutely delicious with the right amount of interesting elements and intrigue while still being tasty and filling. They serve slightly upscale American dishes. The beer, wine and cocktail list was great and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was great and the service was wonderful. This is definitely a place I will return many times.

We would of never known this place existed if it wasn’t for grub hub. Man we’re we happy. The food is amazing! Best fries ever!

We love this place! Especially brunch with our favorite bartender Cara! Wonderful drinks, expansive taps and delicious food. Ambiance the perfect blend of stone, steel and wood. TV's in the bar showing local sports. Good music selection.

I love the decor of this restaurant. There bathroom floor is amazing… go there to see for yourself. It's a small two story restaurant with the bar and lounge on the ground floor and dining on the second floor. I've been here twice and ordered their chicken and waffles both times. The chicken is big and juicy. The waffle is soft and fluffy and their syrup is different but delicious. I'm not really into pickled food and the apples are pickled so they taste sour. Not my thing but others might like it. The first time I had their Grain punch. It was sweet but nothing stood out and the second time I went there, which was this past Father's Day I had their clementine daiquiri. Not the best drink to have with chicken and waffles. After I started eating I couldn't taste the sweetness of the clementine anymore. However, I would probably go for the grain punch again. I totally recommend checking them out. This restaurant is a gem on Hamilton!
