Rice was ok but the rest of the family meal dishes were very disappointing. The egg drop soup was thick and chunky. The almond chicken was just chicken with a few vegetable covered with nasty gravy, Mongolian beef was dried beef chunks with a lot onions and the rest of the entrées came straight out of can or were so dried out that they were inedible. We spent a lot of money on Chinese food that we ended up throwing away.
Large dining room & buffet! Food is very good, but 'buffet' is an acquired taste and isn't for everyone. Fairly pricey! Service is fine, not spectacular, but it is a buffet, so you don't need a ton of attention since you can get your food at your leisure. Large banquet seating area for large or private groups. Not a huge amount of variety in food, so if you don't like fairly generic chinese food, you're not suddenly going to like it here. Atmosphere is elegant and clean, more than you might expect at a buffet. They run a tight ship where cleanliness is concerned! It is a little on the expensive side! Adult buffet price on Friday night was nearly $40! Parking: Large parking area, all free. Can be busy at times with other businesses in the area, but not likely to ever be a big issue Kid-friendliness: Solid discounts for kids buffet compared to adult! Otherwise, nothing particularly for or against kid friendliness.
Delicious food. Ate leftovers for couple days. Sad the buffet closed so early 8 pm. Had to order off menu. Every dish was between 15 to 15.50 but was worth it. No atmosphere at all. Bland grayish walls no eye candy except lighting fixture. But wait staff was friendly and attentive. Hostess spent most time sitting at her own booth drinking thru a straw and looked bothered whenever she had to get up to seat someone. All that aside, some delicious food.
If I could give more stars, I would! Amazing food. Tasted pretty much everything. Didn't dislike anything. The orange chicken is absolutely delicious! And don't even get me started on dessert...yummy! The tiramisu freakin' amazing. My son loved the coconut macaroons. We stumbled upon this place by accident...boy are we glad we did! We will definitely drive out of our way to go back. Our waiter, Connor, was very nice.
The food was pretty good for buffet style. Kiddo loved the fried rice. Missing some staples, and a few items were either too rubbery or too crunchy. There weren't very many desert options. The place was clean, but not a warm or welcoming environment per say. Server was excellent.Food: 4/5
FABULOUS FOOD/BUFFET!!! - I literally couldn't get enough! Downfall - no go boxes - LOLOL! Nice to be in an environment when you see employees take pride in their job. The owner is blessed to have the attentive and cohesive staff she does. Connor our server was not only and attentive, but courteous and personable he exhibited a conscious conversation and kept us engaged as a server AND a kind young man. There was another employee that deserves a shout out. Her name is Maria. Maria was so busy providing a tidy and spotless buffet right along with cleaning everything else in sight. During our visit, I watched her entirely sanitize the entire buffet service and keep the buffet full of food, but had a smile on her face. She also consciously engaged with the patrons. This engagement was given at the perfect timing and an absolute appropriate length.of time. They obviously enjoyed their jobs and it shows. The owner obviously provides a positive employment but has some darn good food! I WILL be back and soon at that : Thanks Grand Garden + Connor and Maria - see ya soon!
As far as the selection goes, it's probably a little smaller than most, but the quality is way better than most. Most buffets have that weird suspicious yellow fried rice but here they have legit fried rice. I enjoyed everything I took from the buffet and next time I am back in town I will definitely come back.Food: 5/5
Picture it. It's your birthday, you go to a Chinese buffet every year on your birthday. New place, new buffet. Walk in calm entry. Sit down "your server will be with you shortly". Are the seats wet with bleach? I sure hope not, but it sure smells like it. 10 minutes goes by, I guess we will just head to the buffet. Steam table of about 12 or so items. The rice will be my base, it looks old and dry. The only meat choice that looks appealing is Mongolian beef. Move on to the egg rolls and crab rangoon. I've never seen egg rolls and crab Rangoon this small. We ate our first plate and still no wait staff, to receive our drinks. Side note; the tables next to our was where all the dirty dishes have been placed. Looking around we have very little food and two completely covered booths of plates and glasses. I have never been to a buffet with this poor service and selection. When I asked a server if there was more food coming his reply was what do you want? How about a full buffet. Where is the food? At that point I saw a server cleaning one of the booths of dishes and asked her to take our plates we were done since they don't have any food. When we went to leave an elderly woman asked that same server if there were any egg rolls and his reply "I guess I'll tell them that too." Absolutely horrible experience. I hope you all have better luck.
Standard Chinese-American food fair. The buffet can be fun. Be warned the food on the buffet's quality will be tied to the popularity of the dish, which determines how long the tray sits out. It's always better hot and fresh so best to go early for the buffet start. Ordering off the menus is always good too. Some of the dishes I'd recommend are the Sesame Chicken, Sweet and Sour Chicken and the Hot Garlic Chicken.
The service was good despite how busy it was, however, the chicken tasted like it was cooked in old oil, and the sauce was they used was of similar quality. The fried rice and the jello were ok, but the egg rolls were the only *good* food items that I had.
