This is an amazing town. Don't tell your friends though, I want it all to myself. I laugh at the reviews... 1 star because he ate bad fried chicken? 1 star because someone's dog was barked at by another dog then the whole town got together and ran this guy out? haha please. The town has some of the most amazing views I have ever seen.  Surrounded by mountains, clean air and the most pure lake water you have ever seen.  Summer, Winter, when ever, this place is perfect. You want fireworks, go to Disney World. You want extreme beauty and magnificent breathtaking scenery go to Grand Lake.

Love Grand Lake! Perfect place to Stay &Fly year-round. Ballooning the Rockies provides amazing views on top of this world.

Too funny.  Reading negative reviews based on the stupidest information.  One lady hates Grand Lake because of a mean dog.  Another man will never come back to Grand Lake because of some bad fries and a crowded 4th of July where they had some issues with the fireworks and the display was short.  If you haven't noticed, Grand Lake is special because of the mountains, lakes, trails, RMNP and all that it has to offer (not to mention an adorably quaint boardwalk lined town with great local people if you just get to know them).  You have to be an idiot not to see the beauty.  But the more ignorant people who can't see the beauty, the less crowded it is for those of us who love and appreciate it.

      Way over blown for 4th of July..  We had heard so many good things about the little town that maybe our expectations of what we would see were set high, but they  could not have been more wrong.. Everything is packed really into one main strip . Lake access backs up to that strip and really doesn't have a lot of room to enjoy Fireworks...  Stopped into a local restaurant for dinner and decide to try their 4th of July special which was fried Chicken.. Main course was way overcooked and greasy, fries were something out of a grocery stores frozen isle if even that good.. Service was poor in addition to the bad meal just making that part of the trip Fantastic.. After waiting out an hour in a half of rain and then sitting on rocks to hopefully enjoy the Fireworks we had heard so much about, we were treated to a 7 minute show.. UNBELIEVABLE..... Totally disappointing.. So after enduring that fantastic show, we proceeded to get into our vehicle rather quickly and out into what we thought was the flow of traffic only to sit in the same spot for almost an hour while everyone else who had walked past us on the road to their vehicles left before us..  NEVER AGAIN.. Town is a joke ....
