Our family has a Cottage home on a lot here and we have always loved this place with no complaints what so ever but when we came this weekend we noticed a big change. The store doesn't have half the things it did just 6 months ago. No toothbrush n. The pool was cold which was a bummer because that was one of my favorite things here having a comfy pool to bath in. I asked around and found its under new management and it was obvious I wasn't the only one disappointed.

Nice park. Needs some upkeep though. Seen a lot of bugs.

My husband and I just stayed at Grand Lake for 2 nights. We originally booked 4 nights to stay through the holiday weekend. We decided to leave early for a few reasons. Most of the property is quite beautiful. There is a gated entry and the road is lined with big beautiful oak trees. Half of the property with the RV sites is also very nice with lots of shade from the oaks; however, the other half (where we were) is a just a big, open, very hot field with absolutely no shade. There are many permanent trailers in this park and many full-time residents. We met one full-timer who told us that the residents refer to the field as “the ghetto” and the nice wooded sites as “snobville”. In Florida, in July, an open field in an RV just isn’t doable, so we decided to leave early. I can’t find anywhere on their website that this is a 55+ community, but it definitely feels like a 55+ retirement community, which is great if that’s what you’re expecting and what you’re looking for. There are no picnic tables and no fire rings. Also, we travel with our 3 small dogs and we use a portable pet fence so that they can hang out with us when we’re sitting outside in the evenings. It’s a small fence, 2 ft high and we place it around our outdoor rug to enclose the space for them to have freedom with us. I received a phone call while we were on the golf course on Day 2 of our stay that we were not allowed to use the pet fence and it would have to be taken down immediately. I checked their website and the sheet of “do’s and don’ts” that we received upon checking in and nowhere does it state that pet fences are not allowed. We took it down as soon as we got back to our RV, rules are rules, but it should be made clear what’s allowed and what isn’t. I find it a little odd that pet fences are not allowed, but permanent trailers, clotheslines and outdoor sheds are. The more we travel, the more it seems that this is the norm in Florida; trailer parks with full-time or seasonal residents instead of RV parks/campgrounds where people come and stay for a few days and then go home. If you’re looking for a place to relax for a few days with your family (kids/pets), build a fire in the evenings to sit out and enjoy, Grand Lake is not the place. If you’re looking for a place to retire, live in a trailer and ride around in your golf cart all day, then this place is perfect.

First time here. We have been here for two months now., people are friendly , laundry rooms are clean but driers run really hot. The pool was at 85° an perfect. Not sure why when the Temps are running 90+ would you want a heated pool..... Restaurant has good food and the Pro shop could carry a better selection of wine.:) There have been a couple of power outages but no fault of the Resort. He Internet isn't the best, comes and goes.

This is our 2nd time to rent a premium cottage. For starters this is a beautiful, very secluded resort with potential. The 1st time we noticed the resort seemed to have several issues, we tried to not think much of it....the pool was not heated as advertised (we were here for a week before they "fixed" it), our hot water lasted max 3 min, there was a major power outage for several hours during the hottest part of the day, and the managers and office workers left before it was fixed. The wifi does not work, they've apparently canceled Bingo indefinitely and the pro shop was never stocked- which was a huge bummer considering the nearest major stores are over 20 min away. Sadly, we're here again and these are still issues. When booking, we specifically requested another unit, due to the lack of hot water. However, when we arrived they put us in the exact same unit! We were told the vacant units all around us were marked for "maintenance." While we throughly explained our concerns/issues with the unit & that we had requested another unit ahead of time, also that our receipt was not what we were told we would be charged through corporate; The manager sat in her office, a few feet away & listened & never came out or offered to help, even after specifically requesting to speak to a manager. None of our issues were addressed, instead we were shrugged off & told to go ahead & stay the night in the unit & to come back tomorrow, because they were booked up tonight- which corporate told us was not true when we decided to try and get help through them. Upon calling corporate we were told the reason that we were placed in our current unit was that the others were not clean, yet. Apparently, they didn't look at the notes to see that we specifically requested a different unit & instead only cleaned the unit we didn't want to be in, out of the 9/10 vacant units on our row. To top it off it's now after hours and we're forced to wait until the office opens tomorrow to try and get any resolve. The management is terrible here and offers no help whatsoever and there are apparent maintenance issues happening and issues with cleaning, which I suspect is due to poor management.
