From a beginner level snowboarder. 
Pros: not crowded on trails, friendly staff,  nice tavern. If you want an easy experience where you can park and be on the slopes in less than ten minutes it fits the bill. 
Cons: relatively small and shorter runs. I found a lot of the runs too steep for me,  but i imagine this wouldn't be an issue at all for people who go routinely

From a standpoint of traveling all over the US, I would rank the resort as alright but nothing special. Rooms are a little better than a Motel 6 but it is clear that a lot of visitors pour through the doors but not much is done to update or freshen up the property. The Grand Targhee Lodge Loft Suite which is suppose to sleep eight can barely accommodate 6 and not six adults. The price is a out of range for what you get. The positive side  is the skiing. AWESOME. The activities, bars, restaurants are convenient and easy to walk to from the lodge. I am not sure how terrible it would be to drive up everyday from town but the parking lot is empty at 6 am and by 0730 it is packed.  I think I will try staying at a more reasonably priced hotel in Driggs or Jackson and take advantage of things the towns have to offer.

The staff in the Activity Center were helpful and very friendly. All staff were very willing to answer questions. The Tap Bar had great food and drinks to fuel up on, and the waiting staff was great! The mountain had amazing powder and the lifts were never busy!

Spent a nice day on the slopes at Targhee. The slopes are very nice and offer a variety of challenges. We got some lunch at the outside grill, which offered hamburgers, hotdogs and bean burgers (along with beer and other beverages). The food was good, and my sister said it was one of the best bean burgers she'd had. The staff were all very nice, and willing to chat. Overall, I highly recommend Targhee to ski, visibility can be challenging from what I've heard, but every time I've been it's been a blue bird day.

Great mountain but the Sioux Lodge Suites were beyond terrible. At $363 a night we expected something, well nice. But when we arrived we discovered a room that hadn't been updated in the last 30 or more years and was missing basic amenities including toilet paper, cups for drinking, mugs for the coffee maker so no way to use it. Then there was the shower that didn't work either. Yes, SKI Grand Targhee, but avoid the Sioux Lodge Suites at all costs.
