Mission
We, the members of the MSWSO strive to connect with the greater Grand Rapids community through various service projects. This type of civic engagement will help MSW students gain experience by integrating theory into practice in real world situations. We are motivated to create a network with professionals while positively representing GVSU.
Purpose
The purpose of this organization shall be to provide opportunities for MSW students to serve the community using their knowledge base learned through the core competencies and advanced generalist curriculum. Interacting with the diverse Grand Rapids community allows members to uphold the social work values and ethics. Additionally, this organization will assist students in building personal rapport with cohorts and future colleagues.
