Story

Greek Souvlaki was founded in 1972 by Lee and Mary Paulos. They were the first to bring yeeros (gyros) to Utah. It was a family visit back to Greece that sparked the idea of a restaurant. Lee's brother, Tasos Petropoulos, owned a small restaurant serving yeeros in Pireaus and Lee noticed that the tourists loved them.

At first, Greek Souvlaki only sold three items: yeeros (gyro), souvlaki, and beefteki. The red sauce was the specialty sauce, in fact white sauce was added many years later! With Mary's home made recipes and Lee's inventive and creative mind, they added many other items to their menu.

The business has grown with two additional stores since Lee and Mary retired in the year 2000. Great customer service, good quality products, and absolute dedication was the recipe for success. Their sons Frank, Leo, and Chris have taken over the business and are using that same recipe for the future of Greek Souvlaki!

No way this place is above a one. The Greek community should deport these frauds if they continue to call their frozen garbage "Greek" food. I was born and raised in Greece and the food has been around for thousands of years. And I just moved here! This chain is a complete and utter fraud. If their model was to produce the worst excuse for food like McDonald's then they are a success. But a poor one at that. Why can't they produce quality fresh greek food like newer places, you ask? Because they are stuck in an unimaginative, frozen nightmare that's scared to get creative and keep up with the competition. Hopefully, capitalism and democracy will end this pitiful excuse of a chain.

I love the Greek Souvlaki! I got a salad tonight because I wanted something cool (it's been so hot out!). Their feta cheese is so yummy! Sometimes the stuff you buy at the store is dry, but not so here! Greek Souvlaki convinced me that feta cheese is truly delicious. :)

This place is disgusting. The food is absolutely sopping wet with sauce and the entire take out box gets completely covered with whatever sauce you top your sandwich with. Buyer beware, hope you like a sea of white goo all over your meal.

This was my 1st and last time visiting this establishment. First and foremost, the young lady at the drive thru was rude. I ordered a salad with an extra chicken stick. The service was slow. The chicken was bland and very dry. Not to mention. Five bites in. I find a hair in my food! Appetite RUINED!! Not impressed. Don't waste your $$

The gyro was tasty but the portion of meat was rather paltry. Maybe two oz. Pita could have been fresher too. Still hunting for the best gyro.
