We stopped for lunch around 1pm at this local cafe.  We prefer supporting local businesses rather than big box franchises.  Sadly our dining experience was disappointing.  The meatloaf that was served was horrible.  If it wasn't in the garbage can before they served it......it should have been.  The meatloaf was hard, burnt, tasteless and had the texture of a slightly beef flavored crouton.  The brown gravy, over mashed potatoes, was likewise tasteless but was revived with an abundance of salt and pepper.  
The pot roast was also of poor quality and could not be finished.
The serving staff was pleasant and probably unaware of the poor quality food being served.  
We did get 2 cinnamon rolls to go that were quite good.

Casual family dining at a fair price.  Service could be better, had to flag down the wait staff to get cream for coffee, to get coffee refills, to get water refills.  Food was good.

Classic country breakfast in the heartland. Wait staff was friendly and attentive. A must stop for travelers passing through Cozad!
