The food was great. We had brunch here and we ordered the traditional American breakfast with bacon and the cod sandwich. The sandwich was great but the multiple pieces it appears to come in sort of falls apart if you try to eat it as a sandwich. No issues with my traditional American breakfast, though.
The staff seemed friendly enough but it felt like they were constantly asking us if we needed anything to sort of push us out of the restaurant when we hadn't ordered anything after our meal.
Also, $4 for a plain coffee with cream? Even if it was free refills that was a lot pricier than I anticipated.

I wasn't impressed with brunch. Cinnamon bun was mediocre. Shrimp and grits were great, but was served undrinkable water "due to soap, its a known issue."  LOL...What other known issues are there that remain unaddressed? Washingtonian ranks it highly. Maybe I was unlucky.

We love the cuisine as much as the staff. Both are exquisite. Ask for one of the three Alex's... they'll take care of you like your one family---only this family isn't dysfunctional. Cheers to bringing authencity back into the kitchen.

A great restaurant with a small and hand-crafted menu of delicious food.  Our server was engaging and knowledgeable.  The decor is eclectic and endearing.
