Husband had a fish hook in his finger, it  had been there all day while he finished fishing, but he needed it out but was willing to wait to go somewhere else if they didn't accept insurance etc.  They took his insurance information and assured him they could help.  They did,  got the hook out  and offered like 5 different shots.  He got the works without any concern it wasn't covered.  At the end they tell him sorry we don't contract with United Health Care (a pretty big company they  should've known right away or called and checked)  and you're going to have to pay out of pocket, if you pay in full we'll be nice enough to take 20%off of your $380 bill! He could've gone to an emergency room for that.  He would have chosen to go another hour to a facility that accepted our insurance had he known.   It was clearly their issue and we shouldn't have had to bear the brunt of thier incompetence.  Our they could gave said,  look we goofed up,  we'll still give you 20% off and you can make payments and figure out if you're insurance will cover anything.  Be careful young here,  you may get stuck with a hefty bill!
