Story

Established in 1977, Greenhut Galleries is Portland's oldest art gallery representing the finest artists working and living in Maine. The work is varied from landscape to seascape, abstraction to realism. We also represent the estate of Maurice Freedman. There are 2 monthly shows running simultaneously in the gallery; one by a solo artist, the other a group exhibition by Greenhut artists. All work can be viewed on our website,www.greenhutgalleries.com.
When in Portland, do come for a visit and stay as long as you would like.

We recently bought 2 oil paintings from this gallery and spent over $3000.  Since we live in California, we asked that they be shipped, which the gallery agreed to do.  About a week before we were to receive the paintings, UPS called us and told us we needed to pay them $100 for shipping.  If we had been told initially by the gallery that would cost an additional $100, we probably would have paid it willingly to get the paintings.  But to have this cost tacked on well after the purchase (about 3 weeks later) seemed very unnecessary, and a sign of poor customer service, especially considering how much we spent there.  Needless to say, we will not be a returning customer.
