I used to spend summers every year at this campground. It was a very nice family campground. It came to our attention that campground had a new owners this year. At first I felt sorry for them because 40% of the campground was out of use due to the flooding. Unfortunately this is where the hospitality ended. I felt very uncomfortable with the gentleman running the campground. (I am not sure of his function, but he is the person who seems to be in charge). It felt they didn't care about the people who were camping there. My neighbor got in trouble with them because he was trying to wash it of spider web from his window with water. They were telling him that he need to obey their rules, otherwise they will call police. I was shocked. He was just cleaning spider web from his window?! The beach is covered with goose poop and garbage. When they were approached about it by another camper, they said that cleaning beach is not their priority. Lots of other campers were complaining about the mess as well. It is disgusting .My granddaughter got a really bad skin rush. I was afraid that the kids will get some diseases. We even ask the staff to provide us with tools to clean it up. They ignored all of our concerns. On top of all that the new owner implemented lots of new rules just to grab money .Firewood is way overpriced. Garbage can't be in regular garbage bags. You can only use specific red garbage bags witch you can buy only in their office. To top it off, just in the middle our one month long stay they decided to change rules regarding dogs. For last seven years that campground used to have an area where the dogs can go in the water. Many of pet the owners used it to cool off their pets in the hot summer days. That is canceled as well. The dogs are not allowed anywhere except the area around your trailer on the very short leash .What a Huge disappointment. It felt that only what they care is how to take your money .The nail in the coffin was that there was no refund. We left it anyway.

This "once upon a time" gorgeous campground has been turned into one of the worst run places in Eastern Ontario. The new management have done nothing right this year and are going about everything the wrong way. Where in the world is it fair to raise the price 33% in just one season for a seasonal lot? No consideration for seasonal campers. Most of us have been camping here over 10 years. They're not easing into the price hike slowly over the next few years, just all at once, boom. They gave out the new contracts last week with just the price on top, no mention of the hydro on it. Just verbally from Crystal in the office that the $200.00 hydro rate was included. But it's not in writing, which means they will probably change their minds on that too. You can't trust them. Next year they are getting new meters and then they will start gouging on the hydro prices. Everything they do is over priced. Need any little jobs done? Don't ask them for help, they charge for that, need a picnic table moved? Nope, they charge for that. Don't stop the men on the road and ask for help, you HAVE to go through the office, oh yes, don't forget, they charge for that. You could stop the former owners son(Ben) and son-in-law(Chase) anytime and they would always help (no charge) Parking your camper across the road has gone up, taking it there and bringing it back has gone up. Their wet wood is over-priced also. I could keep going and going!!! Congratulations Armstrongs!!!!! You have succeeded in ruining one of the most beautiful campsites in Ontario.

I have never seen a formerly fantastic destination ruined so quickly by horrible new management. My long-time retired parents have camped here regularly over the past many years and my wife and I have visited and stayed with them on several occasions. It was an amazing place to stay with beautiful waterfront sites, excellent amenities and fantastic staff. This year we encouraged my parents to take a seasonal site there and they did so. Circumstances earlier this year were such that they were not going to be able to use park as often as they had hoped and decided they would like to sublet to someone else or simply allow the park to rent the spot to someone on the waiting list (with a partial refund). To their surprise the new management would not allow it, despite the fact that several people's sites were completely under water as a result of the flooding from high water conditions earlier this year. This park has no seeer hookups but so offer a pump out service at a cost. My parents opted to pay for the pump out service which was to be done once a week. My parents only left their camper unattended a couple of times (having stayed a grand total of 7 nights all season) and upon their return the tanks had not been emptied despite having paid for the service. To top it off, my parents have received a hydro bill for well over three hundred dollars which is impossible given the number of of days they were actually there or had the trailer there. Having read all of the recent reviews about this campground, coupled with our experience, I would say that the Parks of the St-Lawrence need to make a change and find new managers. The people are horrible to deal with.

Camping at Grenville Park in years past was an enjoyable experience for our family... This year we stopped in for a visit to a friend who had booked a site. The new management is terrible. It seems as though they have their hand out for anything you can think of. 6$ for an adult day pass, and 4$ for an infant who is under two plus taxes. When you arrive for a camping trip the park provides you with one bag for garbage and once you have filled that bag you are charged (I believe it was $3.00) per bag of garbage to be disposed of. The bags of wood for sale are $14 a bundle, which are hardly an armful, and as all other parks in Ontario you are not allowed to bring your own wood. They have a fee of $75 if you are caught burning anything other than wood. The service is less than exemplary, my experience was coming to the park at 4:00 pm while they had closed the office for 20 minutes, instead of waiting in my car with my sleeping toddler who was already out of the car and in my arms, and standing around in the 30 degree weather to just walk down to the site where our friends were staying to lay my child down, and go back up and pay the fee once the office reopened... the management followed behind me in their gator, stopping me and letting me know I hadn't signed in, in a less than welcoming manner. Meanwhile I am 8 months pregnant with a 30lb child on my shoulder... I was not impressed. I can understand that they are trying to do their job, but really.. with all of the "security checks" I think they could figure out pretty quickly that there's a new vehicle parked beside the office and someone clearly trying to stiff them out of a few bucks, which wasn't my intention. Anyway, needless to say I wouldn't waste my time stopping at Grenville Park again while these people are in charge. Good luck to any campers who have booked here.

Do not waste your time to camp here. The charge you for EVERYTHING!!!! They drive around to make sure you are burning their insanely expensive wood, or that you aren't burning anything other than wood (paper plates etc). If you are, they will charge $75 extra. Their office closes at 7:30!!!!! They will not check you in after that. We ended up not going up on Friday night because we wouldn't get there on time as we didn't know they closed so early. We still had to pay for the Friday night and then they charged us $30 extra for our 15 year old because she is an "adult". Even made us pay the $10 for her for Friday night that we were not there!!!! These people are AWFUL to deal with.
