Great park, humans really are disgusting. A great breakup from the up and go environment that it is nestled in. Very shady pathways and a bunch of animals. Take some time to go off the path to discover something new and watch out for iguanas in the trees. Plenty of benches on the pathway and more picnic tables that I cared to count. A restroom about every .75 miles on the path, they were clean and easy accessible. The main walking path is wheel chair accessible too! Remember to pick up your trash.
This historical park is 1 of the best places in Miami to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The staff is second to none and they look after the park like it was they're own home. It's kinda tucked away so it's easy to forget that it's there but don't sleep on this place trust me.
Great park, with trails, playgrounds and a mount in the middle. Lots of shaded areas where you can relax and enjoy nature. There are 2 play grounds although one of them is closed due to safety, I'm assuming is old and worn down. Would definitely go back. Dog-friendliness: It says dog friendly, but you can only bring you pup of its a service animal, and by reading some of the comments they say that the park rangers make you prove to them that is a service animal and kind of harass you if you refuse to tell them what is the service the animal provides.
My favorite park to relax and enjoy mother nature. Hours of trails to explore. Playgrounds, shelters, BBQ,places to bike and skate safely.
My love for nature is a relationship not a connection. Serenity, natural olfactory essence of nature is bliss. To sit in aw and listen to wildlife hurriedly carrying on about their day heightens it all. Always heard of park never frequent . Glad opportunity presented itself to embark upon the many trails which birth curiousness. Great for a stroll. Surface nostalgic for my partner of recollected year year memories as a youth in the 70’s . Lovely terrain .
The golf course is very nice and is suited for many different levels of players. Clubhouse could use some work, but it works and the bathrooms are clean.
I love this park - always have. Nature and you go hand in hand. There are paved trails for those who are content with a safe traversing through nature and a few more adventurous trails that make you feel like Indiana Jones - but not sooo long that you feel like you're on "Alone" . Bring a blanket and stare at the tree canopy or rent a shelter and have a shindig. . . oh and don't forget your bikes and the kids. There is wonder for all ages.
I have been there with my ancle and my mom to celebrate something too spacial so we plan to have a bbq. My ancle has a service dog because he is struggle with some medical condition and he is always with his dog, we were at the park trying to start the fire for the bbq and 1 rude security or ranger person approached to me and said that the dog can be there and I told him that is a service dog and I showed him the papers that I have the right not to show but I did he said that in his experience the dog is not a service dog and we have to leave the promises. I called the police and I waited to they come, in the mean time, he called like 3 more guys and the started to films us like we are doing something wrong they were watching us for a long time toking and laughing and I felt so uncomfortable and small, and insecure 2 big guys and one someone in a golf car waiting there like have nothing to do more than bather us. Then, after hour and a half the police came and we spoke with them but, were so strange, they said that the park has its own rules and we cannot be there if they do not approve the dog! My uncle finished with a panic attack and I was so mad about all the situation. It is Insane !! I love that park I went to many times and I wanted to have a spacial day… believe me ! We had a terror day that day! So, if you have a service dog do not take to the park!! They have a sign next to that says the contrary ! We accept service dog. I love the park but the people manage it is rude and have not heart : Dog-friendliness: They are not allow dogs not even service dogs
Amazing . I loved the art display all around the park from different artist. Plenty of room for kids to be kids in different locations. My favorite park is out by the river where the iguanas are. My girl and I were out there and they saw we had McDonalds so they kept getting closer and closer to us little by little, then a duck came and did the same thing so we left. We then went to the other side where there was a trail, by the way that park has so many trails, that led us to a table made out of rock with chairs and it was also surrounded by water. I love this park.
Nice shady park. UPDATE: had to remove a star today because many sections of the park are closed due to bridge repairs. I will wait about 2 years before returning until 2022. They do repairs very slowly. UPDATE JAN 2023: still closed some of the nicest areas, too bad
