Horrible experience with Griffen who brokers for Ohio Mutual , had a sr22 policy which was reasonably priced except for a 7 or 8 $ monthly process fee that was added to the price of the policy. But Griffen could except payments from debit or credit cards so the only options we had where to either drive the hour round trip to pay cash or mail a money / order or call in to Ohio mutual with a debit card ( which was told to us to be a option until we had been with they almost a year) . So TWICE we sent in a money order at least a week before my due date. The first time I received notice of none payment in a few weeks . I called and told Griffen that the payment was sent to Ohio Mutual way before the due date. Was told by Griffen it was not revived at the 4 week mark and was forced to pay the late payment plus a late fee. A week later I received a notice that the money order finally made it to the payment center. They would have you believe that the mail took 4 weeks to get a letter across ( the post date and the check where both dated days before the due date on the monthly payment) state when actually the it only takes days and sets there at their payment center in processed for weeks, causing late fees to accur and in my case the SECOND time my policy was cancelled. I received no notice from either Griffen or Ohio Mutual about the missing payment or the cancelled policy. And of course with no notice I was driving uncovered and at risk of legal trouble. When I ask why I wasn't notified I was told by Mike at Griffen he sent notice and it must be the post office that messed up. Strange because they also have my phone number. When I ask why I wasn't called I was told they don't have time to call everyone that's late. Wow really THATS THEIR JOB, THEIR BUSINESS. To not inform or notify a person they are at risk or legal trouble and claim you don't have time to do so is about the sorriest excuse for customer service ever. Ohio Mutual actually out right lied and said the sent notice via certified mail. Which was true. Certified mail has to be scanned and tracked by the post office and it has to be signed for by the receiver. The local post office has no record of a certified letter sent to me from Ohio Mutual. They lied. So not only did both companies lie, they cost me my driving rights. My payments where never late other then both times we sent money orders. Mike at Griffen said he heard that excuse all the time implying I was lying. The post date and the date on the money order proves I'm not lying and that the money order sat at their payment center for weeks being process. Their system is horrible and when you call them on their lack or customer care you are the one who's at fault. You are a liar. We are actually seeking legal action against both companies and have filed a complaint with the BBB. I just hope this review helps others avoid the same problem. Because of their lack of customer care I currently can not drive until my new company gets the new policy into the state. Had I been pulled over and got into legal trouble there would be a definitely law suit. Not good business ethics at all. I'd advise seeking coverage from a company that gives their paying customers the care and attention. After all THATS THEIR JOB.

the small staff at griffin insurance were such a joy to work with. everyone was very knowledgeable and make me feel so welcome and right at home. I got great service and excellent coverage.

Griffin Insurance has the best rates on insurance in town!! I love the friendly staff, they are always so welcoming and friendly!!
