Everything was amazing! They were a little busy when we came in, so we had to wait a minute, but that’s expected on a Saturday evening with city events right outside. Our server was beyond incredible. Attentive, super friendly, beautiful and kind! I had the lobster bites. I was nervous with them being the most expensive entree, but the portion matched the price and it was a good quality lobster. The sides were amazing. We will definitely be back!
Mac'n cheese, greens, and yams were good! The perch was just okay, could have used a little more seasoning. My date ordered lamb chops and they were Awesome! I'll definitely get those next time! *Not a fan of the..."we charge all drinks as doubles" without informing the customer and them not tasting like a double!? Cool vibe, will definitely be back.
Great food, clean bathrooms, great music! Valet during certain hours but understandable! Black owned! Lamp chops perfect! Garnish was out of these world! I met the cook who went to culinary school! So i can see the love ! Soul food egg rolls are delicious! Yams best I ever had!
A few days ago I visited Grille 55 for the first time. It has a nice atmosphere. The hostess was pleasant and the music was on point. My friend and I sat at the bar, where the service was prompt. I ordered the catfish dinner, which was delicious. My sides were collard greens made w/ turkey as per the bartender & sweet potatoes. Everything was seasoned well, I enjoyed it. Would definitely go back again.
I had the Salmon, garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli and it was amazing! Cooked perfectly, very fresh and hot temp wise , also well seasoned! Chef Chef/Chef Jay and Morgan Our wonderful server were very hospitable and a GREAT addition to our experience! We WILL BE BACK!
The side dishes was not worth the price, food prices were too high. What I did like was the lobster bites but at 60.00 that was too much, the soul rolls were delicious. They tacked on 18% gratuities because my family was there. It took us 1hr to sit us then another hour and 30mins for our food. My Sons Signature Hamburger was also good.
Food is Great, service is wonderful. Classy atmosphere. Shout out to Morgan The interior is so well done. The fried lobster bites are out of this world, food is always fresh. Employee said best lamb chops ever. Shout out to “chef chef “
Very disappointed compared to the recommendation I received. Ordered a 10 piece wing ding appetizer and a catfish dinner. The wing dings were super small and they gave me 9 flats out of 10 pieces, if I was a flat lover that would be nice but I'm not could have at least been even distribution. Also they drowned the wings in sauce, like had to dig around to find them all it was so much sauce. The greens that came with the catfish dinner was mostly stems barely any greens honestly. Don't get me wrong the food tasted decent just washed they weren't being so cheap with the distribution for as much as they charge. And for that it's probably a no go for me.
We tried Grille 55 at the Taste of Black Cleveland event last October so we decided to visit this location. We went in around 8:50 and there were tables available and we sat ourselves. Pros: - The food was good. I had the Grilled Shrimp, fries, and greens. My partner had the NY Strip Steak, mac and cheese, and yams. The yams were the star of the show. - I also had a Hennessey Lemon Drop because that was the drink from the event that I loved. - Good music playlist More on this in the cons. I think it was "in my feels" night because it was toxic R&B but in a good way. Cons: - Food isn't worth the prices. For two entrees and one drink, we paid $100. OH! And here's the biggest kicker of them all: AUTOMATIC 18% GRATUITY ADDED TO EACH CHECK! I consider myself a good tipper and my standard is usually 20% but that's just ridiculous. - My Jumbo shrimp plate $26 only came with six pieces of grilled shrimp and the shrimp were large at best. I would be ok if the shrimp were actually jumbo and there were six. My greens were also a little lukewarm. - My partner's "NY Strip Steak" $38 wasn't an actual strip steak. It wasn't even a half an inch thick. - We waited a long time for water. About twenty minutes. And my drink came with my food. I'd highly recommend takeout from this establishment because the food is good, although not worth the price, until they acquire more staff I.e. runners, hosts, waitstaff.
The service is awesome! And the food is even better. Now I have to say if you are in a hurry this may not be the first choice. But, if you have some time the vibe is fantastic! The old school music is great. It really is a nice hang out for family time or a girls night out. When I tell you soul food at its best that’s what I mean. I had a party of 9! 1 toddler, 1 child under the age of 10, 3 teens, and 4 adults. We ordered everything from chicken fingers and fries, to lamb chops, chicken salad, to Salmon, to pasta. The presentation was excellent and the flavors were on point. Homemade sweet potatoes, macaroni and cheese was so close to my momma’s it brought back childhood memories. My mom made the best Mac n cheese in the world as far as I was concerned and nobody else could come close to it. Grille 55 is on point. Now be aware of these 2 things: They charge $10 to park in the small parking area in front of their establishment or you can park at the Giant Eagle and walk over for free if you don’t mind walking. Also for large parties they will include gratuity in the bill. You have no option.
