My family & I had a wonderful Christmas-time experience this year. The volunteers were welcoming & knowledgeable.
It was a very nice place to visit. A lot of history at this place
Nice little museum experience about the building and surrounding area, run by good people an done in an old fashion way that adds character and life again to how times were back then. Overall a very pleasant little museum which provides a very pleasant history experience.
Old cabins and one of them was the one Daniel Boone and Rebecca actually lived in .It was moved there from the actual place that they lived at.
My friend and I went walking here one evening. We are both new to the area and this was a nice lil jewel to stumble upon. Very pretty.
This is a favorite place of our family. There are neat things to look at plus the river view is always amazing! There is a walking trail and a playground. Great local treasure
Let me start by saying that the Netherland Inn Museum is a gorgeous and historic property well worth viewing at least once. However, as a historic tour guide who has worked with Tennessee and the National Park Service, the Netherland Inn offers one of the worst guided tours I have ever taken. Suppose you want to learn about slavery at the site; too bad because you won't. Your tour guides are all conservative volunteer women, and nothing is wrong with being conservative as long as you tell correct history! However, little critical interpretation is offered. Instead, you get corny stories about some people who lived there. Again, a beautiful property with VAST potential. Nevertheless, your guided tour will be conducted by at least four different women who, to be honest, are not experienced with giving history tours. Constantly changing tour guides is exhaustive and awkward, especially when they ask you to buy their "historic" songs that they wrote themselves. Overall, I recommend you visit the place once, see the beautiful property, and see how one should not give a critical history tour.
Super beautiful historic building and lots of history. However they are closed for tours on weekdays which is highly disappointing. I'd give 5 stars if they were open on weekdays.Visited onWeekday
Great historical place and the volunteers did a great job restoring. They are very knowledgeable and friendly.
Lots of history from colonial times. The inn itself is great. There are several settler cabins on the grounds. The stagecoach exhibits in the transportation museum are awesome.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
