This is definitely a cool spot to hang out at for some after work drinks or a quick and simple lunch/dinner. The ambiance is nice and they place music. Has both indoor and outdoor seating. I had the enchiladas verdes which were good, id give them a 3.5/5 and my table shared coconut Margarita but it was a bit strong for my taste. Overall, id visit again!
today we arrived at the restaurant to dine in. Initially got hit w a hint of good smelling fabuloso mix w a unpleasant smell.. It was disturbingly strong but no one seem to notice. The bathroom is really cool tho, good use of the space of where the toilet paper was and the door latch to the nice heater in there. For meals we got guac and chips i asked for spicy so it was topped w chopped fresh jalapeños my favorite yay. The shrimps i love it here, theyre so big and juicy i love eating shrimp. Their tostones were also very crunchy and filling. The tacos were big and tasty. Also, the sauce green and dark orange yess omg so good the flavors of freshness and smokiness.
Good food. It’s kinda hard to get a place in the heights that can do a decent fried calamari but grito makes an excellent fried calamari, the guacamole it’s of the charts, the tacos are ok nothing crazy the tacos across the streets are wayyyyy better the staff it’s super friendly and kind, one negative thing about grito is that they need more drink options on their menu which is the reason why I took one star off. Will come again.
Hands down the best Mexican bar grill I have visited. The best bartender Marcos. He drags u in with his charm and excellent customer service. He’s extremely accommodating. The owners treat u like fam. The prices are suitable and everything they serve is fresh and hand picked by owner. Stuff is brought back directly from Mexico and they serve great drinks with natural fruits that they dry out at the bar. Their Margaritas u do not need more than 1 to feel nice.
I love this vibe here.. it’s a Mexican grill menu which has a great diversity and even though I haven’t tried every single thing on the menu I can say so far what I’ve tried has been great!! And I’ve been several times so that should speak to the quality and great customer service. The guacamole and calamari are ALWAYS fresh and MUST to try!! As an appetizer or snack with drinks. The price is good for the value and it’s not overly priced. Definitely will recommend and go back here!!
My go to spot for a grilled chicken quesadilla and the Nachotones are amazing
Our first time here and we loved it!!! Cozy environment, drinks were on point, tacos was delicious... and our server was very polite and attentive..
No meat in chilli con carne... order was replaced after complaint but was identically absent of ground beef the second time around. I bet your thinking, "well at least they replaced it" right, they did but the gesture was undercut by the fact that they understandably requested the food back, only to proceed to call me and try and scold me b/c I touched the food - duh, how else would I know that there was no meat if I didnt dig in a bit & move my nachos around. It's like the guy had his heart set on reselling the order. Place has undergone obvious decline in food quality since under new management. PS SUPER GREESY FOOD.
One of my best Mexican spots in NYC. Excellent amazing food like amazing to die for. Lunch specials start at 7.99 and the drinks are very very good. Lots of food and lunch specials throughout the week and the service is stupendous. Every one is courteous professional and super friendly. The enchiladas with salsa verde Is my favorite. Small and cozy so if your coming with a big group you might want to call in advance but trust me you will not be disappointed
I have been going to this place for several years now but with much less frequency. The wife and husband owners are nice. There is this one bartender guy who is amazing and great guy...took a coworker for his birthday and when we were leaving he came to the table with a bottle of homemade grapa and 4 shot glasses...on the house! First time having grapa...smelled like a citrus scented candle, good enough to let it sit on the window sill or coffee table and have the whole living room or kitchen with a nice scent. I can drink 20 tequila shots no problem....but one shot of this....oh man...I had to tell my coworkers oh dam this effed me up I have to chill for a bit. Crazy strong definitely amazing bang for the buck! Anyway back to the place...it's had its ups and downs. There was a time the place was closed for many months due to a gas leak or something like that. So they lost their star cook this lady she cooks amazing, can taste all the flavors, definitely not so good for a while but surprisingly she came back and the food was amazing again...but she left again a few months back and everything just tastes the same. Taco Tuesday is the day to go. The drinks used to be good but since many months ago it's like even the quality of that has gone downhill. The drinks seem so low grade like if drinking anti-freeze or something I didn't even bother finishing my drinks the last several times I went because it tasted so cheap I felt uncomfortable drinking it. Anyways I gave plenty of chances and I don't recommend the place anymore. I used to go often by myself on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and with my coworkers that live in the area but no more. If the lady cook returns I'll go back for sure but I'll skip the drinks. The place itself is nice small and cozy. I do not recommend the outdoor seating as the view is just not good. It's either inside or another day, no outside. I have many more pictures to post...I'll be back after I organize my pictures on my phone.
