Worth the trip! Located in Hamilton, NJ with plenty of parking and beautiful grounds to explore. Of course the main attraction is the various sculptures of various sizes. The grounds are mostly flat and easy to navigate. Several restaurants on site but two were completely closed when we visited and the other was closed for a wedding. A small cafe with ice cream, water, and limited snacks was open but they ran out of most choices by 4pm. The large sculptures are sturdy and mostly touchable so supervised children can enjoy the art without being constantly told not to touch. There are a few air-conditioned galleries with restrooms so if you visit on a hot day, find them for a break from the sun.
What a lovely and interesting place to visit! The grounds are beautiful and sculptures of various kinds adorn the landscape. Some are tucked away and appear as a scene from a story. Others are large and bold, making statements. The human figures were so realistic. On occasion, my husband and I had to do a double take. It was unanimous that we would return and spend a little more time on the premises since there were quiet places in which we could sit and take in the scenery. There were various other buildings on the grounds containing art and instruction. Informational videos and various works of art were also present in the entrance hall. We came on a weekday and it was not crowded. The entrance fee was reasonable. A gift shop, small café, and restrooms were available, as well as ample parking. Overall, it was an excellent experience.
They have timed tickets that need to be purchased online only. We were able to order them online while we had lunch at Rat's Restaurant. There was a wedding reception at Rat's which was beautifully decorated. Honestly we thought it would be a nice walk after eating but couldn't believe how huge the grounds actually were. We didn't have nearly enough time to spend exploring it. Will definitely go back when we have more time to spend and see the other 1/2 if not more we didn't see.
I went as a group so the price was a little cheaper than normal. Once inside the premise of the area, it felt like I was in a different world. The sculptures ranged from abstract to portraits to a room that was functional but everything was painted. The exhibits and pathways are all very nice, and the views of the lake and the sculptures all Sum for a great experience. There's even a place where you can try using sculpting techniques to make your own sculptures, and once done you can have lunch which is surrounded by beautiful scenery, a waterfall and a pond.
What a great place for a beautiful day. Very welcoming with multiple types of scenery and both indoor and outdoor exhibitions. From the lake side Sculptures and walk way yo the gardens filled with trees, flowers and hidden gems. A delight for the whole family with kids of all ages. Would come over again for sure!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
This place was AWESOME! it was interesting, cool and a beautiful day out. A different sculpture around every corner. The peeing girl picture 2 was my favorite because it was so unexpected. I wouldn't have noticed it if my husband didn't say something. Then The sculptures of the painters painting the scenery. So interesting. The only disappointment was that rat's was not open. But that wasn't their fault it was closed Mondays n Tuesdays at this time of year. We will def be back. Not to be missed. And the peacocks roaming the parking lot.... Omgoodness so cool.
Thorough enjoyed this visit. One could easily spend an entire day there. The sculptures are very realistic and well positioned. It reminds me a little of the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. The mist effect was really nice. The benches provided areas to stop and take in surroundings. We especially enjoyed the sculptures on the bus ride from the station to the Sculpture park. The only thing for us was the exorbitant prices at the Van Gogh cafe only 1 open... I mean $2 for a banana?! Really?! I don't agree with that... We did purchase the spinach and ricotta pie for $5 each... didn't do much to ease hunger but it was tasty. Customer service throughout was great. Nice day out, highly recommended.
What a great place for the price. This was a very fun day trip adventure for my girlfriend and I. All the work here was extremely interesting and the whole place is decently sized. It became a little crowded around noon but there were so many spots you can escape to it almost felt like there was hardly any one there at moments. Would recommend to anyone just looking for a good outdoorsy type time whether in a group or alone!
A beautiful outdoor place to spend a sunny day. Well maintained paths, huge sculptures. Some are more easy to understand then the others Perfect place to bring your children, it is free for children under 5. Purchase the tickets in advance, because the timed tickets are usually sold out by the time you arrive at the gate, especially on weekends. The paths are intertwining, better use the gfsmaps.org to know where you're going. It's worth to go after dark, because the The place is connected to the Rats restaurant, which is a bit pricey.
Went here with my wife, son-in-law and his mom. Had a fabulous time walking around the grounds exploring. Lots of interesting pieces of art in obvious places. However, the real surprises are off the beaten paths. Be prepared to wonder off the main pathways to find numerous pieces of sculpture hidden in secret gardens throughout the grounds. Even ran into several peacocks real on the grounds. Well worth the trip. Free and plentiful parking and reasonably priced for hours of fun. Need to reserve an admission time which helps keep down overcrowding.
