 SWIFT & GENTLE?! NOT!!!

We hired them last summer to move us about 20 miles from Hyattsville. Their estimate came in lower than a competitor, but oh how I wish I'd gone with the one charging $1k more!

THEY BROKE SEVERAL ITEMS AND DIDN'T TELL US. A beautiful carved plant stand had a large piece broken off. They laid the stand flat and propped the piece, putting it behind a bunch of other stuff so I wouldn't find it right away. They broke two old, cheap pieces (a sofa table's leg, and a molding off a wooden roller cart), and broke a large chunk off my bed. They also took a palm-sized piece of wood off of a dresser, and tacked it back on with a finishing nail (I could have fixed it, but now it has a hole in it!). The only ones they told me about were the bed and the sofa table.

THEY PROMISED TO FIX THESE THINGS, but required I get in touch with the salesman I dealt with. He will not return my calls. They say I need to email him, but won't give me his email, and say I need to call him to get it. He will not return my calls.

I continue finding scratches and damage to my furniture.

THEY OVERSOLD ME BOXES. After hearing I could use my own, I bought about 50, and had another 10 or so on hand from deliveries. They had estimated 100 boxes or so. Imagine my surprise in receiving 190 boxes in my home! As I unpacked, I realized why; most of the boxes were not full, many were mostly empty! They filled a wardrobe box one-third full of clothes, then closed it up! One 2x2 foot box had three pots and a pan in it! They padded the the boxes with TONS of paper, which they also charged me for. This is outrageous.

THEY TOOK FAR LONGER than estimated, and charged by the hour.

THEY DIDN'T LABEL THINGS CORRECTLY; "Kitchen" often had baby stuff in the boxes. Also, the boxes were labeled by room only; there was no clue as to whether the boxes contained books or glassware, etc.

I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone!

NEVER AGAIN! I had called to set up a move a month and a half prior to move date and Gulliver's called to confirm the day before my move too. Sure enough, at first they were running late, and then later, later and so-on and then ended up never showing up. They kept offering excuse after excuse. Unacceptable and unprofessional.
