H and H Restaurant
"Founded in 1959 by Inez Hill and Louise Hudson, H&H Restaurant is a Macon institution – woven into the fabric of Macon’s history. H&H has kept Macon’s most diverse clientele well-fed with delicious, stick-to-ya-ribs soul food and is most famous for its founders’ unique friendship with the Allman Brothers Band. This friendship took Mama Louise on quite a ride that included a seat on the tour bus in 1972 and lifelong friendships with Gregg and the rest of the band, as well as most all of the figures large and small of Macon’s southern rock explosion."

We chose this restaurant because of the Allman brothers' relationship. The service was great. We ordered the fried chicken, collards, and fried okra and the soul egg rolls. The chicken breast was a little dry... collards were excellent, fried okra was really good. The Soul eggrolls were delicious, but they did not have chicken or collards as advertised.
Amazing. Amazing from the staff to the food. As an Allman Brothers Band fan I have wanted to visit H&H forever. It did not disappoint. The lady who greeted and sat me down was the best. Calling me honey and sugar and it was none of that fake hospitality stuff either. I got the fried green tomatoes for appetizer my weakness then meatloaf, collards and mac & cheese for entree. It was all amazing. Huge portions and wound up taking half back to the house I was staying at and having for supper. Would go here and order that again in a minute. Highly recommend H&H when in Macon - and I did when I was downtown sitting on a bench and some visitors asked where to get lunch. This will be a must-do when I am back in Macon which will hopefully be soon.
We had such a great time eating here! Keke, was our server and she has a friendly, happy personality! The smoked turkey... oh my.... was the best I've ever tasted, moist & delicious! Come early...it gets busy quickly!!Food: 5/5
The food here reminds me of homemade dishes. The food is cooked to order. The seasoning for the food is perfect and there was no wait to be seated. You do wait a lil bit for the food but I believe it's because they are actually making the food from scratch. I had the French toast breakfast with a side order of hash Browns. I never experienced hash browns like I did from them. The best hands down. Definitely worth every penny.
This place was fantastic food. No real mashed potatoes thats my only complaint. As yall know I am a real chunky potatoes kinda girl. The vibe of the place was fantastic. The food was delicious. I had meatloaf and sides. Boo of course loves his fried chicken. Vegetarian options: I know they have a lot of sides that you could eat. Like a veggies plate. Parking: We had to fit a doge ram into a voltwagon beetle spot. I was luck we found a spot close. Cause I have recently had back surgery. I needed to park close due to I cannot walk long distances. Kid-friendliness: They had a kids menu. Children were at the table besides of eating. Wheelchair accessibility: It's made to be easy access for walkers or wheechairs.
Truly decadent. The egg rolls were mind blowing. Every single thing you get here is delicious, down to the sides and the cornbread. I never liked lima beans before, this place opened up my world to new possibilities.Food: 5/5

We stopped here on way through town & it was fantastic! Terrance our server & kitchen manager was fantastic! We had breakfast was great! The fried chicken on the biscuit was the best fried chicken we had ever eaten. If you a real home cooked meal go here!
