I have used H&R Block for a long time. Yes they are high priced but they DO offer a lot of things others do not. However that is no longer the case. I can still get my "peace of mind" and ALL the coverage I like to get, plus the "extras" from other places for a Better price. I will not be going back to them this year.

$175 dollars to file a Simple return with the only extra added on was claiming the AMA I had for a short time. The fee has gone up every year even when my returns remained Simple. This was my last year going to H&R Block.

I was going to be charged about $220 to file my return. The representative was able to attribute every fee to each form they would file, but when I asked about an unnamed discount on the cost, the representative crumbled and basically said "it's what the system does". Outrageous fees being charged for someone putting numbers into a form for 15 minutes.
