My husband and i are new to the area but have always filed with H and R block, so when the time came my husband stopped by this office on the way home from work to make an appointment. He met with a young woman who after making the appointment and talking a bit informed him that because he was military they would not charge us to do our return, he then informed her that he was military last year when we filed in 
Arkansas with H and R block and had been charged $500 to complete our return? She said that this should not have happened, and said again they would not charge us. So the following Friday me and my husband with 3 very small children in tow were at the office for our appointment, it was at this point we were informed that the woman we had made the appointment with had been moved to a different office that morning and they were not sure they were going to be able to fit us in? The only reason we were able to be seen was because of a cancellation. So after finally getting our return processed we were told their fees came to $455, my husband then told them about what he had been told when he made the appointment, and the reply we got was "you didn't file the right way for it to be free"  my husband later informed me he had been so upset at the time he almost walked out, but we politely agreed to pay and then left very unsatisfied. So here we are a family of 5 trying to live on one income, out $1000 because we were lied to. If this employee had been misinformed and you do in fact charge for military, which is a bit disappointing in its self, fine but if you have a customer who has been loyal to you for 10 years who was informed one way and it was not followed through with it  shows a major lack of respect. Me and my family will no longer be using H and R block and will be filling online next year. Hopefully this review will make you aware of this for other customers.

$300 for simple taxes is way too much.
