Came here to try out H&R Block since I have done TurboTax in the past, and wanted to compare my experience. My taxes are very basic, and it was suggested to me that H&R Block was unnecessary, but I decided to give it a try.  This location was very friendly when i arrived, as i arrived very early for my appointment, and offered me warm coffee and water.  I did have to wait 20 minutes past my appointment before the tax ad visor was ready to see me, and then another 10 minutes while they tried to fix some computer issues with the software they use. So i started my tax filing half an hour into my appointment time. It only took about 30-45 minutes to finish my taxes, and the tax adviser did provide me with some useful information, but my return was the same as on TurboTax.  Overall this cost me twice what i paid for TurboTax and same result. My advice is to use an online tax software if your fillings are simple, try a local tax office for slightly complicated filings, and definitely go to a professional for anything more complex. I would only come to H&R Block if you can't find a local tax agent that seems reputable.
