I purchased an engagement ring and during our conversation, the owner agreed that we wouldn't size the ring because I didn't know what my fiance would like in the end. We agreed that after she said, "Yes!" that we would return and pick out rings or have the ring he gave me sized. So the owner put a ring guard on the ring and off I went. She said, 'Yes!" and we both went back to the store to get our rings. The owner wasn't there but a very nice woman helped us select our rings. We both decided that we wanted something different than the initial ring. I left that ring behind and we waited for our new rings to arrive. The owner called shortly thereafter and said that I couldn't return the ring. That the ring was used and that MN law prevented him from taking it back. So he offered me about 2/3rd's what the ring cost. I explained that this wasn't our agreement and if it had been, that I would have just had the ring I selected sized instead of putting the ring guard on it. I showed up the next morning to pick up the ring, and he had a new and improved offer for me. Why he couldn't offer me the higher price the night before, I don't know. Regardless, I won't do business like that so I took the ring and left. As I was leaving he asked, "Are you unhappy?" We ended up buying our rings at Kock's Jewelry.. It was a much nicer experience and I recommend them highly.
