Wonderful when it's clear!    Lots of good restaurants to walk to from the south parking area.

Among my favorite airplane destinations in Northern California. Half Moon Bay's got it all: beauty, location, and great places to eat. I usually fly straight down the coast to get here, which makes for a relaxing flight with incredible views, rather than deal with hectic SFO and OAK airspace. The winds sometimes come down the coast so strong that the plane barely moves when the wheels touch down. It freaks my passengers out a bit, but it's not a tough airport to land at.

My friends often like to eat at the Half Moon Bay Brewery, which is a short walk from the airfield. I drool over the sight of fresh beer while I sip on my iced tea. After all, someone's got to fly us back home.
