Don't show up expecting fast food. This unassuming little place is very popular and for good reason. They make everything fresh. We waited a good while after ordering our food at the counter, but watched a lot of orders get picked up. The service was wonderful because they offered a free beer to my husband and apologized for the wait. The communication about what was happening was important. They were swamped with orders, so I don't think the wait is a normal thing. Regardless, I had amazing blackened catfish, hush puppies, and southwest corn. All were great. Husband had oyster po' boy and raved about it. Great service, amazing food, nice people. Highly recommend. Dinner time might mean a wait, but it's worth it!
Had to try this place after all the amazing reviews. It lives up to the other ratings. I was not disappointed. Portions are generous. Cod and shrimp were fresh and well grilled and seasoned. Sides are surprisingly good. The southwest corn I had in particular had a nice spicy kick I loved. Only downside might be that there is relatively little seating although it seems like a lot of people do take out.
I had a conference in Florida this week. My wife and I decided to drive to Tampa. She googled a restaurant and we decided to try this location. Service is very friendly. They do let you know if it’s going to be a wait due to high orders. I noticed even though the restaurant was not busy, they had a lot of to go orders. The food is delicious. The batter on fried products was very light and tasty. Our overall experience was very good. The manager also greeted us after placing our order. Manager asked if everything is well. Great job Half Moon Team!!
Would have been 5 stars but the bathroom and AC were out of commission. The food was excellent. The fried cod, shrimp po boy, fries, and hush puppies were all cooked perfectly. Prices are a little high, but not terrible. I’ll wait a few months and maybe try it again when the bathroom and AC are fixed.
This place is so amazing! A true gem!!! The service was wonderful! Everyone was so kind and accommodating! The food was AMAZING! HUGE shrimp! Plump juicy oysters that were fried to perfection!!!! Lovely Cod , thick and flaky! The collard greens were cooked well and seasoned well! The fried okra was also delicious! I would be here weekly if I lived here!!!! Everyone should come here!!!
Friendly & great customer service. They weren't busy at the time of our visit. We decided to dine-in. The food was delicious. Nashville Hot Fish cod, Fish Nuggets Kid's Meal, Shrimp Po' Boy, and a Crab Cake Sandwich. And the hushpuppies...Mmm. All food is made to order.Food: 5/5
Stumbled upon this place and it was worth it. The customer service was great, the food was delicious and came out quickly. The shoestring fries had everything I like, great crunch, thinly cut and were they were nicely seasoned. The crab sandwich had great texture, great flavor and had a nice mix of crab to veg ratio. If you are looking for a great casual seafood spot, this is your place!
Traveling for work and this place had good reviews so tried it for lunch. OMG! This place is a must when visiting the area!!! Coworker got grilled shrimp plate that I was told was great. I ordered the blackened Grouper sandwich with fried okra and was blown away with how great the fish was! Thick slab of Grouper, perfectly flakey and moist. This was a great option and will be back anytime I'm in town.
This establishment is serving some of the freshest fish and great service! The flavors of everything we had were incredible! I highly recommend their Nashville Hot Fish Sandwich, that sauce is and explodes in your mouth . Honestly I recommend everything pictured: Fish and Shrimp plate with blackened shrimp, fried okra, hush puppies, Nashville Hot Fish Sandwich with SW corn. We will definitely be coming back!
Excellent fresh seafood joint, with outstanding service and a good waitress! Not far away from the lettuce park, and worth going there for lunch. We did so Best fries I've tried. Good prices.
