This is definitely worth visiting if you like modern art. It's not as large as the Gibbes, but it's free and includes student art as well.

I love the Halsey Institute. It's right across the street from my office, so it's great to go by in my lunch break and peruse the current exhibit. The student art outside is also pretty amazing. It's a gorgeous, light venue. It's so nice to have something like this downtown.

I love art, and the Halsey not only showcases well known artists, but also showcases work from CofC students. I used to work right across from it and attend CofC, so it was a wonderful place to go during breaks.
