One of the best decisions of our lives was to switch to Jeff Hammerschmidt as our son's lawyer.  Jeff is an extremely knowledgeable and very experienced lawyer, but he is also honest, ethical and very likable!  Our Son received a misdemeanor DUI while he was in town for a friend's wedding.  Jeff took over legal representation after our son was 6 months in with another lawyer.  The other lawyer appeared to want to get a trial case out of this situation, and actually made things worse for our son by angering the DA, who then gave our son an additional charge with a mandatory 2 month jail sentence!  Jeff looked over our son's case and did not sugarcoat the situation, saying our son needed to plea guilty and hopefully he could get rid of the additional charge.  Best case scenario would be 10 days work program and the 3 month California DMV DUI class.  Jeff then performed a miracle; our son received Community Service that he could do in Nevada (which is where our son lives and works) and an 8 hour Nevada DMV DUI class instead of coming back to California every week for 3 months of classes!!!!  Jeff actually took the time to help our son to learn from this experience, and he truly does not want to see any of his clients come back.  He is extremely proud of the fact that he counsels his clients, not wanting them to become repeat offenders, and the court is aware and appreciative of his efforts.  We cannot thank Jeff enough, for helping our son get through this very depressing situation in his life, and winning the best possible results for him!

My husband hired Mr. Hammerschmidt to help me through my felony embezzlement plea bargain with the DA. Jeff assisted me through the most difficult, excruciatingly painful time in my life. He was upfront, direct AND compassionate. Jeff took my case and "walked" me through a legal process unknown. Although I had already admitted guilt when Jeff was hired, he worked diligently on my behalf resulting in a sentence which was far less than the minimum guidelines. 
Jeff's expertise provided me with a decade of my life back!
