This place is AMAZING! We had the good fortune of staying at the Hampton House during the 2017 eclipse and this was a GREAT decision--the home is beautiful. The secluded pool in the back is AMAZING. The grounds are AMAZING. The hosts were AMAZING. I would totally return here for a non-eclipse visit just to have some nice unwinding time in a quaint and quiet small town. This is the PERFECT place to stop when you are traveling along I-95--it's a quick stop off and well worth the stop. There's an entire room that doubles as a dollhouse museum that you MUST see! Can't say enough good things about this place.

Great location and beautiful house! Hosts are very nice and helpful. Azalea room is nice and well-furnished. Bathtub is dated, but functional. Overall a very nice stay and we will return!

What good things CAN'T I say about this place?! The owners are SO kind and generous. They had a plate of peanut butter cookies waiting for us right next to our room! Very cool that they have a mini fridge that you can use to store anything in, but it's also shared if anyone else is staying in the other two rooms, so keep that in mind as far as space goes. The owners don't overwhelm you when you come in or are staying and make sure to give you your space. Since no one else was actually staying there the nights we were, we got to look around the other two rooms and see what they're like. If you want your own private, beautiful balcony, the slightly more expensive Camellia Room is the way to go! (I personally wouldn't like that room due to the clawfoot tub with only the handheld shower hose the rinse off with, I prefer to have a fixed one on the wall/ceiling) Also great is that we needed somewhere to stay with our two dogs at, and they allow them in one of their three rooms for just $25 extra a night. We stayed in the Azalea room (the only one that allows dogs) and is was super quaint! Nice fireplace in the room, spacious windows, bathroom with separate toilet and shower/tub combination. The ground are beautiful with a lovely terrace/back garden, swimming pool (which was not ready yet, I guess we were still too early for that) and a (somewhat beaten down) tennis court that probably doesn't get much use. Walking distance to downtown Walterboro which was great as we were selling Quinndles at the Rice Festival this year! Diane, the owner, also collects old/antique dolls houses and barbies, and gave us a free tour of the room she displays them in before we left--very interesting pieces and history there! One of the rooms she actually uses as an art studio for her paintings and whatnot, and showed us that as well--she is super talented! For a smaller town, Walterboro surprisingly has great restaurants and things to do and shops to visit as well. Cons: 1) Good, but not Great breakfasts. First morning we got omelets, bacon, yogurt, mini muffins, coffee and orange juice. Second morning we got VERY egg-y French toast, mini muffins, sausage, yogurt, coffee and orange juice. None of it was BAD, just not a large selection or large portions. 2) Minor annoyances to the guest room- what may not be minor to some but were somewhat more major to me: No extra toilet paper besides the one on the roll, quite dusty in the room on cabinets, mantles, etc., Took Forever to get hot water through the sink and shower....like, many, many minutes! I get it's an old house, but still.
