I was very happy with my stay at the Hampton Inn in Fort Walton Beach. The hotel is located right on the beach… and I mean, right on the beach! There was about a 20 foot walk from the door of my room to the whitest, softest sand I have ever experienced and another 100 feet from there to the Gulf. There was a great laid back vacation vibe to the place. A fantastic hot breakfast in the morning, USA Today available for free (one of my favorite perks) and a clean and comfortable room. The staff was personable and helpful. Better yet, the location was perfect in regards to food and entertainment! It was walking distance from some nice restaurants, laid back beachy seafood restaurants, inexpensive alternatives (Waffle House)and surf shop/beach stores. Everything you could possibly need or want was within minutes reach. If you need a vacation away, or are staying for business, I couldn’t recommend this place more. Fun in the sun, comfort and convenience at a highly reasonable price!

Us at Ignite Hospitality Services would like to give a huge "THANK YOU!" to this hotel and it's staff and management for providing an excellent stay for our own Adam Wagner, and his family while escaping Hurricane Irma! The bedrooms were perfect, and the hospitality was above and beyond, the free breakfast in the morning was amazing as well!

This is a descent hotel. Not sure I like the neighborhood but the beach is nice. The rooms are comfortable and cool in the summer. Staff is extremely nice. Probably the nicest hotel in this area.

I'm giving this hotel 1 star because I can't give less, I stayed here the weekend of Oct 13 2017 to celebrate my birthday with a quiet getaway. First time visitor to FT. Walton/Destin area and was very excited to get the weekend started. I think everyone should know that this hotel only has 8 rooms with a possible view of the beach based on the height of the sand dunes. But back to my experience here, I arrived and checked into room 142. A king size bed with a back door to the patio, which other guess may walk pass throughout the day. I spent a a few hours in the room before joining my brother who flew down from Virginia to celebrate with me for dinner. When I returned to my room I sat in the chair with the ottoman and dozed off for a bit. I woke up and decided to shower before getting in bed. So as I do with every hotel I always pull the comforter/duvet off the bed and spray the pillows, flat sheet, and fitted sheets with Lysol. So I sprayed them again before my shower, after a nice hot shower I prepared to get in bed and notice something in the bed moving. Upon futher inspection of the bed and moving the pillows around I notice more bugs that obviously were bed bugs. So I began to pack my things and report it to the front desk. I was shocked by her reaction after informing her of the bed bugs, she reacted as if she knew the room had the bugs and not once did she go to look or send someone to look. She apologized for the bugs but that was the only apology I received. She moved me to room 243 a double, which at that time I really should have checked out of the hotel but my gf was schedules to arrive and she was tired. Upon entering that room it smelled like mildew, and looked as if the night man had been relaxing there before I arrived. This was my first experience with bed bugs so I was very paranoid about laying in the bed. Inspection of the bed turned up no bugs but the damage was done. I slept in the chair from the desk to get any rest at all. On sat morning I went to Wal-Mart to get a mattress cover and a sheet set as I felt that was the only way to feel a bit secure. Monday morning I got my bill under the door and left , but the effects from the experience has followed me home. I shook all my clothes out on my patio and washed everything in hot water and dryer them on high heat. Threw my luggage away and sprayed and vacuum my shoes. I Dred ever bringing these things home as I read they travel well. I was so disappointed with the Hampton Inn by Hilton that I never got an apology from management or anyone from this company. But the experience after a week still has me taking extra precautions at home to ensure I didn't miss anything to disrupt life at home. So people do your homework when looking for a hotel as this trip I didn't take the time to do the same. Hopefully this information will be beneficial to someone as these bed bugs are a serious matter and can cause havoc in your life. And thank you Hampton Inn by Hilton for taking away the serenity of a weekend getaway which was meant to clear my mind and relax, only to add more thoughts and paranoia to it.

Stayed in room 124 for 5 days. Paid $260+ a night. Worst Hampton Inn my husband and I have stayed at thus far. The hotel is old and dated. The room we were in was not worth the money we were charged. The bathroom had cracks in the shower wall, peeling on the tub, discolored tub, etc. This was all brought to the attention of hotel staff and their excuse was and I quote, "Its a old hotel and we're sold out every week". Only advantage is, the hotel is on the beach. Definitely will not stay at this location again.
