This hotel was going through some construction/upgrades during our stay. They did well to hide it but it was apparent that there were issues when we discovered we didn't have hot water our first night. I immediately went to the front desk to let them know. The lady working immediately jumped on it in an attempt to reset the boiler. She said we'd have hot water in a couple of hours. Morning came, still not hot water. Cold shower. Again, went to the front desk to complain - at around 6:45 am. The gentleman working didn't really seem to care and only stated that someone was coming in around 8 and he'd let them know. I said I had to run for a meeting but as long as it was fixed for when my wife got up to shower. It was never addressed. My wife went down later in the morning and the gal working the front desk then offered to move us to another room, which we accepted. The rest of our stay was as expected. UPDATE: Received a call from the hotel GM. Very nice and eager to address my concerns. She redeemed her business. Thanks.

I was on the fence for giving this stay a 3 or 4 star. I was put into a double queen handicap room, it was huge!! For that, I would give 4 stars. Room was clean but the decor was a bit dated. Bathroom was fine, but the light above the sink did not work for me, so the light in the bathroom was fairly dull. The breakfast was good, with lots of choices. What I did not like was the upkeep on parts of the property. Some weeds were 3 feet high and just looked bad. There are a few choices to eat on the same road, but the town looks run down with a good number of closed businesses. Rates were fair for the product. I would likely stay here again if I were in the area. I booked my room through Trivago and saved at least $15 to $20 on what the hotel quoted me on the phone.

It's not bad. We did get here at 2 check in is at 3 and we waited until 4 for a room. Some rooms don't have microwaves or mini fridges. The hotel is nice. The staff is great. We did have hot water. The rooms are nice. We enjoyed our stay. Just be ready to wait at check in.

Our room was not ready when we got here, we had to wait over an hour before it was finally ready. They didn't seem to care that much. We reserved a king suite room and it was laid out strange. You can't see the TV from the bed or the chair. There's also no couch, just a chaise lounge so we just ended up sitting on the bed as a family the whole time. The curtains aren't very dark so light comes in pretty early. There was a dead cockroach on the pool deck and the pool was kinda small. Breakfast was pretty yummy, that was about the only good thing here. It was better than a lot of the hotels in Salida, at least looking from the outside.

A little disappointed with this Hampton Inn. Couple of light bulbs out in the room, sewing needle on floor, bath tub not clean, TV remote not working and bathroom fan not working. No hot water for a shower this morning either. Never really had this number of issues at a Hampton inn. They did fix one light and the remote. The plus is the beds are comfortable and the front desk is helpful. We talked to the front desk before we left. They discounted our room and apologized. The front desk is very helpful here.
