I booked a couples massage for my boyfriends birthday. I have been to a H & S before but not this one. They were the only ones locally who had a time slot open for couples massage for the day i wanted. They couldn't find me in the system so they offered both of us the intro price for a couples massage, so i accepted it even tho I explained to the person on the phone that I have been to one before just not the King of Prussia location. Anyways so the day of the massage i get a call asking if it was ok to push the appt back for half hour because they were running late. Sure no problem i told them. When i arrive they have us fill out the forms. The first massage therapist comes out and gets me, takes me to the room and I asked if this was a couples massage. He said no they are individual. After discussing with him, he went across the hall to another room and the other massage person was inside. He told her that they had a couple massage and she seemed upset about and made a remark " Are you kidding me?". I work in customer service so i know the struggle, but you should at least be discrete with your comments, especially when there is a client in the other room. So they take both myself and boyfriend to the couples room. They leave, and not even a minute they are back. The receptionist is here now, they are saying that the couples massage is not the same price as the intro price. I let her know that i was told differently on the phone. My boyfriend and I decided to just do individual massage. At this point it seemed like no one had any idea what was going on. So I am walking back to the original room and the guy is blaming the computer system and what not for the mix up. He offers some aromatherapy complimentary as a compensation. So i agree. Well the massage is not like anything I had before at your other location. The therapist is sighing every 15 mins like he did not want to be there. It was primarily a back massage not a full body massage like expected, and a firm one at that. I did make a remark in the middle that it was too much pressure he just lightened up a little. Massages are supposed to be comfortable and relaxing, this one was uncomfortable and I was counting the seconds it was over. As it was over, my boyfriend was still in his session so i went out to pay. Guess what, they finally found my name in the system, didn't tell me before the massage started, so now i am paying full price massage while boyfriend pays the intro price. It would have been nice to know before hand because we would have went elsewhere because we didn't even get a couples massage. The customer service is horrible here and unprofessional, and if i ever decide to get a massage again it will be at your other location in Oaks, PA. Customer service there was amazing and the massage was incredible.

I had an appointment at this location this evening at 5 PM. At 4:10 PM, they called me to say that they didn't have any massage therapists available because "the time was blacked out but not booked." They deny having any responsibility for this, and said that the person who took my call must not have been able to find my account. I pointed out that this is obviously a lie, since they have my phone number and address, which I did not give them when I booked. They refused to address this discrepancy in their story. I asked them if they would give me any sort of compensation for this, as we were supposed to have a couples' massage for my girlfriend's birthday. They refused to answer, and hung up. When I called back, they picked up the phone and placed it on the desk. I could hear them laughing and talking but no one was responding to me. I have been a member of hand and Stone for three years, and today is my absolute last day. Do not go to this location for any reason. EDIT: Today, the day after they claimed to not have properly pulled up my account, I got a welcome email thanking me for signing up for their newsletter. They lied right to my face and then lied again when I confronted them about it.

I had a massage with a female therapist. It was a wasted hour. As a teacher I have to work for a full day to earn the price of a massage and tip. Besides geting me in late, she asks me to sit on a chair to ask some questions. I'm sorry but when I'm paying for a massage, I don't want to talk. After filling out papers stating that I wanted a firm touch, she had a very soft touch. When she asks me about that, I tell her it can be a lot harder. But nothing changed. She was just spreading oil on my body. She didn't use her fingers or hands... Always using her arms and side of the hand. All the ache and tension on my back and neck stayed the same. Then she finished early- so I ended up geting about 40 minutes of massage. Maybe I wasn't lucky with the therapist assigned to me.
