Customer service is top notch. As a company although I was sorry to see them fallowing Walmart foot steps by squeezing out local brands for theirs and higher priced brands. I see less and less signs and products for local brands. Puts you in a bad mood not seeing them support these products like they have in the past. But that staff is so great it's hard not to want to go there. I don't know what can be done to fix the stink from the fish counter other than maybe a great ventlation system or moving way out back, but that's not a great inspiration to go buy food when your gagging.

I miss Shaws and Stop n Shop. With no competition in town you're at their mercy. While the floor staff is pretty good, The managers all pretty much suck. They have been slowly deleting half of the things I buy on a regular basis over the last two years. I've asked numerous times in the last two years for things to be brought back in stock only to be told to my face "no problem" only to never have the product show up but to have the manager I asked for the item to run and hide EVERY time he sees me now. The seafood dept. is a joke and half the time you can smell it, we don't but fish there anymore. They NEVER have a peice of swordfish that isn't pathetic, you'd need at least three to feed a average adult and probably 6+ to make a pound and the "fresh" haddock usually smells of amonia. The Meat dept has also goneway downhill in the last two years. There is hardly ever any decent steaks there and the chicken is always ALL family packs. Sometimes single people with no kids don't want EIGHT chicken breasts or EIGHTEEN drumsticks, just two...but at this Hannifords at least, thats usually not an option. Bottom line is you can never really decide what to have for dinner before you go there, you have to "see what looks good and what isn't family packed" and for the most part let Hannifords dictate what you're gonna eat. The workers on the floor are great and all know how much managment sucks, but the store is going downhill fast. To the point where I have to drive to the Hannifords in Turner 30+ miles away twice a month to get the things this one no longer carries. We are selling the house and moving to where there is more than one supermarket within a normal distance and a fully staffed hospital. The Rumford/Mexico area is nowhere to live if you're under 80 and like good food and groceries. But, if you're into snow, boredom, a complete lack of grocery and dining options and that lovely paper mill smell, this towns for YOU!

The only grocery store in town with fresh produce. The new rewards program is awesome.

Friendliest people in town. My FAVORITE supermarket...way better than Wal-Mart!

People r ALWAYS VERY HELPFUL & friendly. Make u feel right @ home & ALWAYS seem 2 have enough help available.
