Nice Eastern Market location,  easy to walk to  from the Metro. The door does not have numbers on it so beware. very unique and creative drinks. they also have a very nice appetizer menu, I enjoyed the charcuterie and the salad was very good. A nice beer selection and the atmosphere is cozy and dark. Service was fast and friendly. This is a good place to go for happy hour or a romantic date. I recommend reservations.

Absolutely loved this speakeasy! Such an intimate environment, candle lit and perfect for a date night or cozy night out with a small group. I am placing this one as one of my top 5 bars in DC.

A great speakeasy with knowledgeable bartenders. The low lighting and soft atmosphere makes this a great place for a date or low-key happy hour. It is super small so be sure to make a reservation. Have fun trying to figure out how to get in too!

It took a minute to find the place, but what an adventure it was.
The door to Harold Black is very unassuming and very easy to miss.
Once inside, you're led up a very darkly lit hallway that leads to a staircase to the 2nd floor. From there, another hallway to Harold Blacks door, which is nearly invisible except for the candle that directs you to your mark. 

Once inside, the lighting does not improve but certainly adds to the forbidden/secretive feeling they've intended. 
Flash photography is not allowed. 
It has an industrial vibe with it's exposed pipes and ceilings, and has books scattered throughout in shelves that separate each booth. 
The cocktails are delicious, particular and carefully made. 
Our server jumped behind the bar and made our drinks specific to the flavors we described and craved. 

I'm absolutely obsessed with this place.

Great place for date night. Intimate setting and cellphone free zone. Great drinks reasonsbly priced. You must have a reservation. No walk ins
