I’ve been following some of the reviews of this establishment and thought I’d check it out for myself. I ordered the 4 wings lunch which consisted of fries and potato salad. I also ordered a side of mac and cheese. First off I tried the potato salad which was really good . However, I will mention that the potato salad came in the same small container as the order of hot sauce and probably was no more than a tablespoon sample. If you want the potato salad then I would recommend getting a side order of it. I was a little disappointed though that I paid $21 for my order and the potato salad came in this small container. The mac n cheese was a little lacking in seasoning but cheesy nevertheless which I like. Overall it was good. The cheesy won over the lack on seasoning. The wings looked really good. They were freshly made and crispy, juicy and hot which I like. However the wings were a little bit too salty for my taste. I even noticed the excess salt sprinkled on my chicken wings. The fries complimented the wings but the saltiness took away from the flavor in my opinion. However, the hot sauce definitely made the wings more flavorful for me. Overall they were good but I would recommend easing off the salt a little bit to allow for the flavor of the chicken to shine! Would I go back, yes but I will be more critical if my chicken is just as salty as it was on during my first visit.
First off the lady that took my order hair was so nasty and dirty I was scared the scabs where going to fall into my food. There was a white liquid in a bowl looked like milk just sitting open, flour container just sitting it was gross. I ordered friend green tomatoes and fried pickles no green tomatoes so pickles only needless to say they went into the trash brunt and nasty...never again
Chicken sandwich was not cooked properly and the buns were burnt. I used to like this place but now the quality has gone down and it doesn't look like there was much effort put in, if any.Food: 1/5
Absolutely THE BEST!!!!! I’m from Chicago and I really appreciate having this flavor where I am now in LA!!! Best thing ever! It didn’t disappoint at all!!! Customer service also was excellent!!! Young Lady I can’t remember her name but she was great!!! :
I feel guilty giving a black-owned business a negative rating but I did my due diligence in trying to resolve the matter prior to this posting. This past Thursday i brought my mother here from Hawthorne to support a black-owned business. I placed an online order for a cod & catfish meal $20 each. Each came with chicken, fries and coleslaw. We wanted to try the other sides in place of the fries but there was no option for that online. So I called, speaking to the cashier Marcus. He informed me that he could do the substitutions but it would be “much less”. Ultimately I asked him to give us fries with one meal and the two additional sides greens & potato salad. When we arrived the food was packed to go. I asked if there were trays to eat on and Marcus said it’s okay you don’t need one. I told him I wanted one. He then reaches for the dirty stack of trays next to him. I made a face and he asked if that’s what I meant. I said yes but not a dirty tray. He started to look through the dirty trays for a clean one. I said nvm. We opened the food and both meals ended up having the fries and thank goodness because the additional sides were placed in the tiniest dipping containers. I was confused. Thinking I paid for them I went back inside to ask how much I paid for the tiny sides. He let me know that they were complimentary. It was not what I requested but I let it go. I discovered there were no utensils, napkins or ketchup. I had to go back inside 3x for each thing we ate outside. The ketchup packets were sticky and disgusting. The chicken had an odd color but I thought maybe it was normal. It wasn’t terrible but it was giving chain store. I was hoping for a more homemade experience. The catfish was extremely stale and did not even look like fish when I broke it apart. It looked like all corn meal…I finally gave up but hesitated to go back inside to tell the cashier because he was already looking at me like I was idiot. Luckily, the cook happen to come out. I told him the issue. He was friendly and went inside to get the meal refunded. My mom was satisfied with her meal, so it was just the one. He returned with the meal saying the cashier said he could not refund it because I “ate off of it”. How else would I know it was bad? The money is not the issue. Keep it and invest it in a better experience for the next person. I called several times missing the supervisor/manager by minutes according to Marcus. 2 days later I caught the manager. She apologized for the inconvenience & said she would have the owner call. It’s been 2 days & no call so I’m reviewing. I hope you guys read this review and make some improvements immediately. I drove out of my way to support your business.
I order in door dash an hour ago and they still haven’t begun to prepare my order . I’ve had two dashers leave because of the long wait and I am on my third dasher waiting for my food . I tried calling to see what the hold up was and I reached an automated voice message saying that they can not take me call. If this restaurant were busy the professionals thing to do would be to put there door dash orders on pause instead allowing customers to place an order that can not be fulfilled in a decent time causing both me and the door dasher frustration over a waste of time !
Refused to leave a tip for take out and My food was just thrown in the bag hap hazard. A Real Ghetto Establishment never ever again and the food wasn't that good. Worst Chicken Joint in Los Angeles. Do yourself a favor go someplace else KFC is better Parking: Good but still find another place
Read about this place in google saying it was one of the best chicken in town. The place was nice and clean. Their music was a bit too loud for comfort. The service felt lacking, to be honest. Felt like they weren't happy working there. The food was okay. The chicken tenders were a bit bland and under seasoned. It was crunchy, though. The menu said it included a coleslaw, but they seemed to forget to include it in my order. The pizza bread thing was a little on the salty side. The fries were undercooked and soggy. Didn't feel like I got my money's worth, and I paid a pretty big amount for something so basic.
They must be paying for these reviews because this place is a joke...The food could be good but it's NOT!! THE gizzards so over cook they so hard it will crack your tooth, the fries are old like they then re-cook the fries over and over....The Cole slaw so fuggin nasty I can't tell you what it taste like it has no flavor...They act like they scared to put the mild sauce on your food they don't put enough on there...and when you order the mild sauce on the side it's not even enough to put on one piece of chicken they must short on inventory real bad..Man look I order here online 3x via doordash and everytime something wrong.. they forget the mild sauce which taste more like hot sauce. Low key this not it! This place make Chicago food taste horrible.. if you want the experience honestly go to Chicago and get it frfr because this not it. The pizza puff is wet what I mean is the pizza puff don't be done it's doughy smh....However it is in a great location. Please do better!!! Harolds chicken do not sell alot of things that's on the menu like Mac and cheese, greens, green tomatoes, etc. They also microwave a lot of there food to warm it up... this is a BIG NO for me save your money frfr
Not sure how this place is going to survive in LA. I know them from Chicago. This location is far from sanitary or even close to prepared to service the volume of people coming through Fox Hills. The chicken was decent. The fries were completely undercooked and even my kid didn't enjoy them. The bread was stale and dry. The catfish, while seasoned well was overcooked on the ends and undercooked in the middle. I hope they can get it together and mirror the food and service at other locations. Would love to see them be successful in this city because, as a chain, they really do have good food.
