Tasty!! We had the chicken teriyaki bowl and the katsudon bowl. Each came with delicious miso soup. We added some baked mussels which came out perfectly hot. The cherry blossom roll was surprisingly very well done and just absolutely worth the money. I wish I had room for more sushi rolls but this place has me tapping out. Full on some good food. Altogether this food was about 86 bucks including tip. Not bad!! Our server was respectable and very attentive. Such a sweetheart.
Excellent food. I had the poke salad and it was delicious. Generous portions of avocado and sashimi. That dish didn't have any sushi rice but the rice they served with the kids' bento box was really good.Food: 5/5
Great spot for sushi in Seaside. Its had different owners over the years. Happy to say that they went under new ownership and it’s back to its glory days. Favorite rolls are the Grinch Roll, Hot Cheeto Roll ask for spicy mayo on top or on the side and captain crunch roll. They have good miso soup, great tempura udon and nice sized bento boxes. They also have great packaging for to go orders. Normally pick up is 20-30mn for my order over the phone. I usually spend $80-$120 for my orders. So a bit $$$ but honestly worth it.
Stopped by this place on a rainy Saturday afternoon for a bowl of chicken nabeyaki udon. Restaurant is located on the perimeter of a sketchy part of town. Sketchy meaning you see homeless people walking around. I thought the nabeyaki udon was alright. In essence, I had soup with chicken leg meat and udon noodles, with a bit of fake squid and diced seaweed. There was no other veggies, like daikons, Napa cabbage, sliced carrots, or even an egg. I’ve been to other Japanese restaurants where they give you more than just chicken when you order the chicken nabeyaki udon. They include Napa cabbage and sliced carrots, served in a cast iron pot so that you feel like you got your money’s worth. I might come back and try their sushi another day. Sushi Time further south on the same road has better nabeyaki udon.
One of our regular places to go for sushi. Dinner or lunch, you can't go wrong. Prompt service no matter how busy they are. Never waited more than 15 minutes from ordering to getting our food. Plenty of beverage options and the dessert menu is decent too. Usually way too full to have room for it though. Portions are generous. Slowly working our way through the staples. Haven't had a bad experience yet. The servers are always pleasant and accommodating. Another thing I like about Harumi's is that splitting a check between multiple parties at one table is never an issue unlike other restaurants around here. Parking: Plenty of parking available. Kid-friendliness: From the juice options, children's bento box options to the chopstick helpers. This place does not discriminate against families.
Boring bland sushi. Honestly sushi from Safeway is much better. They charge $4 for a fountain drink lemonade. No refills, as for a refill and get a second $4 glass. But that would be tolerable if the sushi was even average. No flavor at all. The unagi does not even come with the classic unagi sauce! Avoid this place.Food: 3/5
This is my go-to restaurant in Seaside. I always go in with what I plan to order in mind, but always check their specials board and things often change. Today, the Shio Ramen Special caught my eye and made a delightful lunch. Noodles, flavorful broth, bits of pork belly and more. Add a Japanese Craft beer and I left a happy and full guy.
Best sushi in town! Baked ones offer a healthy choice.Food: 5/5
On a visit to Monterey we came across Harumi Japanese restaurant, we started with the tempura appetizer it was ok nothing special about it, and we ordered the deluxe sashimi and it was excellent. We had 3 rolls white dragon, kamikaze, and the Megan rolls. Nothing so special about them. The rice was falling apart, flavor was blunt. Wasn’t too impressed. In general I’ll give it 3 stars.
The food and service was spectacular. Made us feel right at home. The waitress introduced us to new food items we never new about or tried before. We will be returning with more family members next time.Food: 5/5
