The sales and purchasing experience was good overall. The loss of 2 stars is due to their shoddy "guarantee". Guardsman is the terrible service that is supposed to provide the cleaning and replacement services. Naturally, it's an extra charge, however, Guardsman is supposed to clean your couch and replace damaged cushions. Well, what they don't tell you is that they can't guarantee the dye color of the replacement covers. If you see where this is leading, the replacement cushion covers we received didn't match our original couch color. Guardsman didn't care. Haverty's didn't care either. Long story short, don't waste your money on the guarantee. In a year and a half, when the furniture you ordered becomes discontinued and they have no way to replace what you bought, they WILL NOT be replacing the whole couch. You'll be SOL. Don't let the sales person fool you with this.

Shopping at Havertys was positive in every way.  There was an excellent selection of furniture on the floor so I didn't have to shop from a catalog. The salesperson,  Joe, couldn't have been more helpful, courteous and patient. He spent two days with me  helping me with my decision and he made suggestions that I wouldn't have thought of otherwise.  Other stores I had been to couldn't compare to my experience with Havertys.

We went to buy a sofa at Haverty's. The sales person whose last name was Hawkins showed us many options. We liked a 4 piece floor model after 1 hour or more of looking around and agreed to buy it for $1600.  I filled the credit application. Then, the manager who agreed to sell us for $1600 said, oh $1600 is for 1 piece and not 4.  We were in complete shock. Such a blunder. Anyways, when we asked the sales person if he could honor that price, he rudely said, no way. We may have bought a sofa from Haverty's yesterday but after this experience we are staying away from this store and so are our friends and family members.
